Rooms are not really sound proofing as you still can heard door banging when your next room closing the door. And during midnight you clearly can heard motorcycle crossing by the hotel and make our family with small kids are not really feel comfortable.

MJ Inn has wonderfull design of the room and filled with great colour.

The table was not long enough to place things on it. To add another table in the room.

The motel was located in a good location with ample parking bays and nearby food places.

Woken around 6:30am to a staff member hacking up snot and phlegm for a good 20mins in the bathroom that adjoined ours. The drain in our bathroom constantly made a dripping noise.

Lighting of the room could have been brighter so that the space looks spacious. It was because we had a room with windows that it helped with the overall lighting and feel. Room space is tight but it's to be expected in a shoplot-type hotel.

Room was surprisingly well-equipped - water heater in the bathroom was working well, complementary sachet beverage provided as well as internet cable TV. A bonus was that the room had a wire extension unit which helped us to charge all our electronics at night. Kudos! Overall cleanliness was good and staff were friendly.

The room are not soundproof and you may hear sound or noises from other rooms. Since I stay near to the reception counter, I can hear when people are talking at the counter or the ringing bell when people want to come in.

Location is easy to find, public parking is available. The place is near to KFC and other food stall. It is also near to ATM, just below the hotel. Staffs is friendly and helpful during the stay. Got coway at the end of the hall and balcony for smoking area. The staff will lock the front door after midnight (if not mistaken) and people need to ring the bell or call the reception counter to ask help open the lock. Water heater is functioning well and no problem with water supply during my stay. Bed is comfortable and aircond also functioning well.

The external sink & the toilet were stinky. I requested for a change of room, but none was available. The room has a window but too bad it cant be opened. Security wise, I am ok with it. But I was expecting for a window that can be opened and help with the airflow. I requested for a non-smoking room, but this room is located just next to the Smoking Area. So the bad odour went in.

Located just above a bank, and next to a block of restaurants and retail stores, it really helped.

Very dirty, between spiders and cobwebs, cockroaches all over the room. It's not that hard to maintain a clean room even if it's not the most modern but they failed at this. I noticed they have rebranded due to poor reviews possibly.

First we had a room which had a bit of moist on the walls and the bathroom didn’t look great, however, when we mentioned this to staff, we immediately were offered another room.

Really nice budget stay in Ranau. Worth your money, excellent location and all in all great for a night. I wasn’t bothered by the thin walls as other reviews stated, and the property is really doing its best to keep it down to a minimum. Staff was super friendly. WiFi was excellent!

The room is humid with smells. It turns out better when aircon was turn on. Some part of the walls near the shower has turned mouldy.
