Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumAs most resorts, Mutiara Taman Negara still uses old-fashioned, noisy maintenance tools and machines which are, when in use, disruptive for the peace and quiet that this location has to offer. Replacing these by quieter, electric alternatives would be a good idea.
Mutiara Taman Negara is a wonderful jungle hideaway that manages to combine authenticity with relatively comfortable accomodation, surprisingly good food, and excellent service on all levels. They have managed to find a balance between respecting their unique environment and catering to tourists; all activities takev into consideration the uniqueness of the location and are done by local, knowledgeable guides. I hope they can maintain this balance in the future. Tip: however way you travel, it takes some time to get to Taman Negara so a stay of two days is a minimum, three is ideal.

MalaysiaPoor room cleanliness and buffet dinner menu varieties
To reach the property need to cross the river by boat and no designated parking was provided at river bank I stayed 2 nights in Chalet no 7 and great place for kids run around. The single bed was broken where it sunk at the left side of the Head-board ( one of the leg must be broken hence cnt sleep when the bed is not same level. The cleanliness was very poor for the money paid. The housekeeping didn't use a vacuum at all. The breakfast is acceptable but the dinner can be improved

India- long walks with no option of buggy to get from the restaurant to the room - vegetarian food options at the restaurant are very limited and don't taste good. Beverages like coffee and tea taste really poor.
The ambience and the rooms.

NorwayValue for the money is not in the balance. Paying for the location actually; as the price per night is more expensive than a 5 star hotel in KL. The lodge is 2 star actually.
The location, the ambient is the best. Staff is super nice warm and friendly.

United KingdomSomewhere to sit inside would have been good when it was too hot to sit outside (as it was during our stay!) and a bedside table.

JerseyThe evening food is plentiful but not to a high quality. You can order separately off the menu even if you’ve paid half board.
What an amazing location. It seems daunting on the map but it is very simple once you get to Kuala Tahan. You need cash for things outside the Mutiara Resort to make life easy with the boats. The resort itself is spectacular and brilliant value for money for where it is. You don’t need a guide for the close walks but if you are nervous then it might be easier to do that. We booked the boat to Lata Berkoh and it was wonderful.

United StatesSometimes the food for dinner was underwhelming. Also, my roof leaked into the bathroom, which was annoying.
The bungalows were spacious. The setting is pristine and offers a nice porch to relax and watch the birds and monkeys. Close to the trails. The restaurant offers convenient meals.

NetherlandsBungalows and facilities are starting to show some wear and tear, could use some maintenance. Nothing was broken though. Breakfast and dinner are good but not amazing.
Unique location, surrounded by nature and wildlife (monkeys everywhere). Layout of bungalow park is nice with enough privacy, however the park was also not nearly full when we were there.

SingaporeResort is not ideal for people with mobility issues as there are stairs from the jetty to the resort. Some of the rooms farther away are not as well maintained.
The location is great, the resort is in the National Park across the river from Kuala Tahan. There are various trails that start from the resort and can be explored independently. The resort also offers activities, although we did not try it. The staff is helpful and friendly. Food at Seri Mutiara restaurant is okay. There is a clinic at Kuala Tahan across the river. There is a trolley to bring the luggage up from the jetty to the resort.

MalaysiaSaturdays are quite crowded for canopy walk. If those who stay at the resort are able to access the canopy earlier in the morning just before the others get in, will be great, as it probably will help to spread out the movement at the canopy area. The staff at the canopy, the one who allowed us at the first point, was quite snappy, but it was understandable as the numbers were huge on that day.
The location is spot on, the hotel is nestled right at the entrance of the park, easy access to nature walk and it's nice to soak in the atmosphere just walking around there. The chalet is comfy too. The tours are informative and full of adventures. Love the Lata Berkoh journey - River Tahan has its own charm, it is captivating really, must try. It's enjoyable to walk on your own too - surrounded by the lovely and lush flora and fauna, and the never-ending sounds from the rainforest creatures :) We enjoyed the meals served at the restaurant. There were variety of dishes and staff were friendly. Thank you for the experience.
