One of the shower heads wasn't secure in the holder, so would constantly fall down while showering (almost hit me on the head!) Just a hook per person needed in rooms for hanging towels Spare toilet paper wasn't left overnight once staff left for the day (17.30-9.00) Thin walls, other guests are the main disturbance

Easy to get GrabCar, use 'KK Times Square - Block E' as location Area and building felt safe & quiet, although close to the airport, the noise was very minimal and never woke us

Chloe was so friendly and helpful with our request. The room was nicely arranged and most importantly the entire place looked new and clean including the bathrooms. Theres a little pantry area and area to read as well. Its right across from the shopping mall which was super convenient. Will definitely come back again!

Nothing much most its perfect, apart when finding the hostel you might gonna struggle a bit since it quite hidden if you dont look the address carefully, need to put a sign to help the guest find the hostel..

Love the hostel, everything is clean, having a goodnight sleep despite in middle of city, easy access to mart, restaurant and even to Imago mall take a few steps away. Definitely gonna comeback again..

Not much privacy with a sliding door that isn’t great at blocking sound. Shower was a bit cold.

The staff very friendly! I love the vibe here so clean, calm and most important privacy! I will stay here soon!! And I want to apologize to their that I was so rushing to checkout that time & didnt got a chance to inform our checkout time. But overall I would give a 9/10!

Not the typical hostel, very quite and the guests are more for themselves so it was quite difficult to meet some new faces. But you could see this also as a positive thing, depending on what you want :-)

The rooms where really clean, beds very super comfortable. Living room and kitchen was also very clean and I loved the minimalistic approach. Felt like at home :-) Chloe, the host, was also very helpful. We could even leave our luggage for a couple days while going on a trip to the rain forest. Thank you for the comfortable stay!

What a nice place to stay! The owners are so friendly and we felt very welcome. Comfortable room with a van and an airconditioning. No window in the room but that was oke. Warm shower. You also can use the kitchen and store some stuff in the freezer. Wifi was very good. We highly recommend this place! Thank you!

I did not realise Sarang was a renovated apartment! As an apartment, the host does not have much control over the internal conditions because the architectural bones are not set up to comfortably be occupied as a hotel / dormitory, i.e. no insulation in the walls, ceilings, floors, plus inadequate ventilation meant excessive reliance on AC to ensure healthy internal temperatures and clean air into the space. Without AC, the rooms were overbearingly hot and thin in oxygen. Even with AC and fans running, the temperature control could not reach into the deep dorm beds making it impossible to sleep, and such a heavy reliance on AC all throughout the night was an easy way portal for dehydration and catching colds. I do not know much about Malay building permits but after speaking with some local Malay architect friends, I am almost certain, this set up does is not compliant with building permit approval, if there ever was one.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There were adequate (in number and size) wash facilities and the beds were large and comfortable. The single room was perfect - would not recommend the dormitory.

In case useful- 'Oikos poshtel' is where we were moved to, a generous upgrade to get a private room but the room itself seemed to have a pretty serious damp problem. Also there was no breakfast or working laundry there. We were happy with the customer service though! 😊

Staff were so communicative and when they heard we would be checking in late at night they moved us to a private room so we wouldn't disturb the others in the dorm. Seemed very thoughtful! However we were moved to a different accommodation down the road so unable to comment further on Sarang Hostel.
