Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe "Trees" area wasn't open, unsure if this was due to the time of year but there was no where to get any drinks at the hotel. The fridge in the room was not too cold either.
Everyone at Saav was super friendly and helpful, the whole hotel was very clean and well kept. The location was great for us, it was close to the jettys and food food with the main eatry area about 5 minutes walk away

SwitzerlandVery friendly and helpfull staff. We have got little christmas presents and also a birthday present. The room was comfortable and quite big as well as the bed and the bathroom. The view from the room to the sea was nice. It was quiet all nights throughout our stay, although the hotel is on a road with much traffic. We have been here before and would come again.

Incredibly clean - everything is sanitised daily and the hotel staff are so lovely. Pool is pristine with an outdoor shower to use before and after. Water is filtered from the tap so there is no need for additional plastic waste of daily bottles.

AustraliaThe hotel’s water is filtered so you are expected to refill the water from the bathroom sink (which initially felt a bit disgusting to do, but we got over it and boiled the water again before drinking just to make sure). This was a very minor issue though and we got over it quickly.
Clean, comfortable and good-sized room and bathroom, and centrally located. Next to the Jetty where the free CAT bus runs and Little India for good food. Iron and ironing board available at lobby (we asked and it was sent to the room 10 minutes later). Rooms were cleaned everyday. We didn’t need it so we declined it a couple of times but things like fresh towels, emptying bins, replacing toilet paper, changing bedding etc. were offered every day, and the cleaning staff member was very kind. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful.

United KingdomThe internal walls are super thin so there's the odd bit of noise from housekeeping and other guests
One of the friendliest welcomes ever! This hotel offers single 'cabin' rooms for solo travellers and is very eco-aware even offering double filtered water to drink directly from the tap. The small pool is perfect for cooling down after exploring Melaka on foot. The fuel station opposite is convenient, assuming you can get across the very busy road! Great cafe next door, and Little India on the door step. Also handy for jetties and the esplanade.

SwedenThe blackout curtains didn't attach to the wall, meaning some light could slip through in the morning. No big deal though. Swimming pool was quite small, but very clean.
Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Hotel feels sustainable and it's extremely clean and sanitized. Location is great, near several markets and attraction points. Beds are super comfortable and the bathroom was big with 2 sinks and a perfect shower with perfect water pressure.

GermanyThere is only one thing to mention - a matter of 'taste' / in the 'eye of the beholder': For us the were unconfortable / too hard.
The SAVV HOTEL is a great place to stay while visiting Penang, especially George Town. Just to mention a few PROs [out of many]: *The Hotel staff is really nice and helpful. We were warmly welcomed and received some information and a brochure of the main attractions in George Town. *The Hotel is well (/ perfectly) located, close to the 'heart' of George Town. Many restaurants, bars, shops and attractions are really close (< 1km) and easily accessible. *The Hotel as well as the rooms are really clean, pretty big and pretty. Espacially the bathroom was really nice! - Good price:performance-ratio.

NetherlandsHotel is located by a busy, loud and smelly road. Therefore the balcony is useless, as it is just not a nice environment to sit in. That’s really a waste, because the balcony is enormous.
Good location, everything within walking distance. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Comfortable and quiet room. Hotel has many small thoughtful things that make it extra nice (e.g. double glazing which is unique in Asia, complementary postcard, etc).
