    Nothing we didn't like

My husband and I stayed at Sepilok Nature resort for the first couple of nights of our trip around Malaysia and it was one of our favourite stays. The hotel itself is really beautiful, the rooms around the lake are all lovely, food and drinks are good considering where it is (quite remote) and it's 2 minutes from the orang-utan sanctuary. The staff are super helpful and friendly and they also organised a great river trip for us which was another highlight of our holiday - we would highly recommend staying here

Beautiful serene cottages in the jungle. Short walk to the orangutans and sun bears-I was disappointed with sun bears-but it’s a short walk and visit. Staff were lovely and helpful. The restaurant did not open when scheduled-my only complaint. We stayed 3 nights to recover from jet lag from US. The 3rd night an orangutan came onto the property-we missed it because we went to the floating village for a seafood dinner. The rooms were huge. Ours had a beautiful view of a small river. Vegetation was beautiful.

The wifi didn’t reach our room, there are no meals included and I feel it’s a bit over priced for what you are getting

Nice rooms with hammocks, good location right next to the orangutan rehabilitation centre , nice setting, we did have a problem with a loose toilet seat in our room which they did look at straight away and offered us a new room when they couldn’t fix it.

No water pressure at all, no tv and no wifi in rooms. Not a big deal for a day or 2-3 but it gets a bit much if staying longer (at least for me).

Beautiful setting, next door to orangutang rehabilitation. Feel immersed in nature.

Couldn't really fault the resort in terms of value for money.

Exceptional rooms - spacious, clean and everything you need. Lovely location, overlooking their own lake and next to the rainforest. The Orangutan and Sun bear sanctuaries are within a few minutes walk and the Nature Reserve with its canopy sky walk is about 15 minutes walk down the road. We saw an Orangutan in the sanctuary but other guests reported seeing some in the grounds of the lodge. Food was very good with a choice of "European" and local dishes.

Didn’t feel the reception staff were friendly. They came across a bit rude as they would say something randomly in the local language and then them and others would laugh.

They had a restaurant on site. The room was spacious and clean. If you had a issue the staff were helpful as well as helping in arranging tours to an extent.

The location is next to the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries … just a few minutes walk. Not needing to get a Grab ride or taxi is a bonus. The setting is lovely with the guest priority in the cafe worthwhile in busy lunch periods. The room was sensational - comfy, cool and close to all amenities.

Value for money, when you charge so much for a room per night, why charge 5 usd separately for breakfast. The water bottle annoyed me, as I told the staff I was going to the rainforest discovery centre or the sanctuary, they claimed water won't be available, so I bought an expensive bottle from them, when the tourist sights both had water at a much cheaper cost.

Location is great. But within a few minutes walk there are other places to stay that are cheaper. The amazingness of this place was not worth the high price.

Water pressure in shower is too soft. Restaurant is closed between 2 -6 - no access to drinks or food. Some of the food choices were not to our liking. Sometimes the restaurant was out of an ingredient or a food choice.

In a secluded and beautiful area - so quiet at night! Cabin is spacious with high vaulted wooden ceiling. Simple decor with wooden craved art of orangutans. Bed is comfortable, A/C works well and is quiet, shower has hot water. Many places to sit in dining area to eat, enjoy the lake and nature and to chat, read and relax. Charging outlets on each side of bed as well as lamps. Hammock on outside porch to use. Towels are large, soft and absorbent. The kitchen staff helped us refill our water bottle whenever we asked. Staff was easily available and able to answer our questions. There is an on-site restaurant with breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks/fruit juices available. 5 minute walk to orangutan rehabilitation center and sun bear sanctuary. Easy to book night walking tours at Rainforest Discovery Center (5 RM per person each way for car transportation and 15RM per person to go on the walk).

The resort and surrounsings are just stunning. The house was beautiful and clean. The resturant serves very good food, the service was just lovely. It was one of the my favorite lodges I have travelled to. The location is amazing- 3 min walk to the Orangutan And Sun bear centers, 15 min walk to the Rainforest Discovery center. I wished I have stayed longer..

Airport transfer was expensive. Use the grab app or we got a card from a driver outside the sanctuary and he took us back to the airport for 1/4 of the price of the resort.

Fantastic rooms, spacious with a lovely bathroom and terrace. Food in the restaurant was great and the staff were lovely. 5 mins to walk to the Orangutan sanctuary and sun bear centre and 15/20 to the rainforest discovery centre.

Food delicious. Staff lovely. Setting gorgeous. But please note would not really be suitable for children as no swimming pool and big pond that smaller children would need to be carefully supervised around. Perfect for a few days to visit local sights. If longer I might have got bored but lovely for what I wanted.
