Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Belgiumthe communication with the owner of the property; not a very classy person.
After a 12 mins drive on a sandroad you reach the nice property which was a marvellous scenery. This is a lodge where many (especially German) hunters come to hunt. It might shock some people but personal I understanding the utility of hunting in nature. Since we were quite exhausted after a fortnight travelling and feeling a bit sick we unfortunately did not participate in and activity. The animals come to drink in the waterput and come even to the pool to be cuddled by the guests. Wonderful experience! It was quite chilly in the evening and we are inside; they even made a fire for us. Since we already ate chicken the 2 previous days we asked for an alternative. They served us a filet of Waterbuck. One was rare but mine was too much done. A pity because I was really looking forward to a good peace of game. But they are so friendly that it is hard to complain! Having personal experience in tourism I would say that the management should be more present to coordinate the tasks. They have a great bar with a large choice of drinks/cocktails! One of the servants was so nice. She took care of me like her child! She prepared a salty drink for me and poured me hot tea to take care of my intestinal problem. Really kind! The staff in administration was correct and efficient. A nice place to end your road trip because you are at the airport in 35 mins.

AustraliaThe place was stunning. A little Oasis in the desert. Staff was super friendly and attentive. My room was comfortable with a super large and comfy bed. I slept like a dream with no noise, just nature at my door. The food was excellent, although I was not that into the game meaty dishes served. Just my personal preference. The game drive was so informative, but I wish I could have been on more than one occasion. The shuttle service was well appreciated. Thanks to Petrus and all staff for making my stay memorable and enjoyable. Ps....I am going to miss my Virgin Mogito's. Till next time as I will be back.

AustraliaFood on one evening wasn't great (there were a lot of guests that night) - a little bit cold and the soup was the same as the previous night and not very tasty. The other three nights it was great!
Peacefulness. Friendly, genuinely kind and warm Namibian staff, who show an authentic and unflashy appreciation of the nature around. A lovely room with views of the savannah in two direction, and fire laid for the chilly nights. Super bush walk with giraffes and blue wilderbeast (amongst other game). I've lived in Namibia for 7 years, quite near to the lodge, and have been to many exotic and far flung lodges. I booked for convenient affordability, simply to have some time to catch up with work in a quiet place, and was incredibly surprised to find this little retreat so close.

We had a fantastic time at Auas Safari Lodge. The location was perfect for us to relax on the way from the Kgalagadi TNP to the airport. The accommodation was fantastic: clean, well-equipped and with amazing views of the wildlife in the surrounding land. The hosts were friendly and gracious, literally nothing was a problem, and kept us well fed with delicious food. We also had massages in the spa facility which was an excellent addition to a very relaxing stay. All in all we’re counting down the months until we can return!

AustraliaA great lodge not far out of Windhoek. Stayed here at the end of my Namibian tour, and it was a lovely location to unwind before my flights home. Room was huge, pool was great, the meals were amazing and the staff incredibly attentive. I enjoyed my game drive and also had a great time exploring the walking tracks on foot.

GermanyIt's been my 2nd stay there - very nice again. The lodge is located close to Windhoek as well as to the airport, so it's the perfect destination for the start or the ending of a Namibia trip. The staff was very friendly, especially Elisabeth and Eva. The food was delicious! There is a refreshing, clean pool as well as a stunning view to the surrounding landscape over a close by located waterhole where you can join separate animals. I did also one of the well signposted walkways which offers quietness, brilliant views and a big variety of birdlife.
