How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The beds could be better
The best restaurant in Namibia EVER. You can really eat local food and the chef is very good.

A fridge in the room would have been a plus, but not a big issue.
Beautiful grounds, relaxed atmosphere, local wildlife of tortoises, ostrich & springbok, plus the owners 4 cats. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The pool and outside lounging areas were plentiful with Chris overlooking the waterhole, plenty of comfy loungers and other seating areas around the property. The food was outstanding! The best of our entire trip. Comfy rooms and beds too. I would definitely recommend as a place to stay on route to the airport or on arrival in Namibia.

The hosts and the staff are extremely kind and helpful - very nice people. The food is excellent - both breakfasts and dinners. The restaurant is super cosy with a perfect view of the mountains.

The rooms are not quite up to date (this was not important for us: overall the standard was very satisfactory).
We stayed at this lodge for one night as a stopover on our way to the Waterberg Plateau. This is ideal because it is close to the B1. Immanuel Wilderness Lodge is ideal for this, especially as you are welcomed and accommodated very nicely. The dinner and Breakfast wäre excellent!

The best breakfast that I ever got in a hotel; fresh baked bread, meat on the bread of zebra and other wild animals and very nice Namibian cheeses.

Location outside Windhoek is not great and very close to high way, but peaceful enough once inside the gates. Good for a one night stopover

Rural location but not far from Windhoek. Felt as if we were miles from anywhere. The waterhole at sunset have us our first glimpse of Springbok, Kudu and Guinea Fowl. It was beautiful. Food in restaurant was wonderful. Eland steak and Biltong soup were superb.

Wonderful and confortable rooms, even for a family of 5. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant menu is spectacular. Is our third time there is we hope to be back.

No complaints at all.
A little way from the main road , so no noise at all. A very in the real bush experience (but actually close enough to Windhoek if necessary to visit). Beautiful gardens with two inquisitive but not aggressive half grown ostrich chicks in a large fenced area. Dining Area, gorgeous a real lodge experience with truly excellent food.

stunning lodge feels so isolated but only 45 minutes from Windhoek, beautiful grounds and pool with waterhole to watch so many animals come to drink, game drive was fabulous too. great food too.

I liked the peaceful natural area around and between the rooms. IIt feels very nice and save to sleep with open windows, while Balou and it‘s college’s safe the area around. They offer a beautiful pool area as well and very good food. The way from/to the international airport works fine and the Windhoek city center can also be reached quickly.

A shower curtain would have been good. While I managed to keep all the water in the right place the rest of my family did not achieve this😉
A great introduction to Namibia close to Windhoek. Lovely welcome, fabulous food and a little waterhole outside the restaurant where we could see some wildlife.
