How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location was perfect. The harbour was a short walk away where there were great restaurants, some shopping, and access to a variety of tours. The view of the lagoon with flamingos and pelicans every day was wonderful. The home was spacious and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. Laundry was great to have. The beds were comfortable. Water pressure was very good. Francois was an excellent host who was very attentive, helpful, and addressed all our questions during communication prior to our arrival and during our stay.

The weather was a bit chilly at the end of March, so it was gloomy at times but the views from the property and on our walks more than made up for it
This was such a lovely and spacious property for my family. Any and all facilities were within easy reach, and that meant more time watching the flamingos. Francois, the host, was very hospitable and at our service. Thank you so much for making our vacation pleasant and memorable! Equipped with a coffee machine and grounds, a heater in the living room and electric blankets in the bedrooms, the host really took care of everything.

If you're a complete idiot, it is very easy to lock yourself outside on the balcony, and have to call your girlfriend to come and rescue you. But obviously that didn't happen to me.
This place far exceeded our expectations. Francois came to meet us on arrival and showed us around. The house is huge, and built to a very high standard. The kitchen and bathrooms are both excellent, and the view from the balcony over the lagoon can't be beaten. We had a wonderful evening walking around the lagoon surrounded by pelicans and the ludicrous number of flamingos as the sun set. Francois gave us helpful advice about where to go for food and cash in the town, and we really loved the feel of the town compared to other places nearby, definitely our favourite spot on the Namibian coast. We could very happily have stayed here for much longer if our time allowed.

The appartment has a mix of styles, which is not our cup of tea, this an unimportant detail.
This appartment is very well located in Walvis Bay, in walking distance to the Waterfront. It is huge with 2 sleeping rooms with nice view to the lagoon, kitchen, living room and a garage. The check-in was good, good explanation on alarm, a table was booked for us in a restaurant. Welcome drinks available.

Internet was occasionally a little spotty and during low tide the nearby lagoon smelled like sulfur from a recent algae bloom.
Very clean and comfortable duplex apartment. The friendly host is kind, humble and very efficient.

Wifi only worked upstairs but hosts provided 2 wifi options and connection upstairs was great
Excellent location, host very welcoming and kind. Parking in garage. Private entrance to the property, a 2 bedroom townhouse. Kitchen well equipped. TV with multiple channels. Laundry machine (washer/dryer in one) in suite. Across from ocean - right outside the door (across street) there is 3km (one way) path along the coast, lots of walkers/runners. Area feels safe. Multiple nearby restaurants. Pictures don't do this place justice - highly recommended!

We are a family of 5 people. The apartment was very comfortable with two bathrooms, a washing machine and all the necessary to be able to cook and be independant from restaurants. Drinks were waiting for us in the fridge. François our host was really nice and took a great care of our wishes. The view on the sea and the proximity with flamengos was great. Last but not least the wifi access was perfect. We could stay there for a whole week in the future.

The view is awesome, you can have a bath watching the flamingo in the lagoon. The apartment is beautiful and well organized. All you need is present. You have coffee, tea, sugar available, you have pods for washing machine, you have warming blanket, the tableware is in very good condition and clean. You have a zone to park you car inside. And what is more, the owners are nice and can give you many tips. Highly recommended place.

The house is perfect. Extremely clean, equipped with everything needed. Fantastic location right in front of the ocean and walking distance to some nice seafood restaurants. The owners are extremely kind and helpful. They leave just beside and they are ready to help just in time for any need.

So glad we stayed here! Beautiful, comfy and very clean apartment with all you can need during your stay. Gorgeous view onto the lagoon with flamingos, close to restaurants and the start point of many tours - you can walk there in few minutes. Owners really helpful, we didn't have the chance to meet them in person but they were always easily reachable for any info. No better place in Walvis Bay!
