How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I did not like that I could only get ice in a glass and not in an ice bucket for my room. Its so hot there one actually needs to be able to drink cold water and the room cooler did not make the water cold enough for me. Why does Nordic use the Blucabana picture to advertise the hotel? That's misleading. I kept looking for the enormous swimming pool only to find its at the next door property.
Breakfast I had oatmeal porridge on 3 out of the 4 mornings that I had breakfast because it was delicious. The fruit salad was also great. I dont know about joloff rice and soup for breakfast, I tried it but it was not to my liking as a breakfast dish. My room My room was beautifully and stylishly decorated. Thank you for providing plenty of bottled water to drink. Blucabana It did not live up to my expectations at all. The service was slow and poor. The food was nothing to write home about. I had to prove that I was a Nordic guest before they would give me the wifi password and then there was no internt both nights that I was there.

Toilet/bath cubicle, air-conditioning, breakfast and security are things I look out for with every Nigeria hotel. Nordic Hotels did amazing on all areas. My family and I had an amazing experience catered by very courteous and ever smiling staff. We're definitely returning on our next trip.
I was hoping for a night swim at Blucabana next door, but the pool closed for 6pm, on an Easter Monday holiday!!!

A bit boring environment for a Friday evening. At check in the front office needs to explain more the great facilities around line the gym and the blue cabana restaurant

There was some confusion about billing. There was also a mix up with airport shuttle / pick up… I booked it on the app but no one waiting to meet me at the airport on arrival!! ended up with an hour long wait until hotel sent a driver out. I also hadn’t appreciated that I’d have to pay extra for the airport shuttle!

They have an espresso machine, but for several days, they could not make any coffee based drinks except instant nescafe. Foodservice items ordered often slow to come to table after ordered. Also, service is not very proactive, customer has to initiate by summoning staff. Often a few mosquitoes in lounge and in room, but they were lazy mosquitoes that almost never tried to bite.
It is quiet and safe. Staff is friendly. Its pool gym restaurant at BluCabana are very nice. Wifi was strong, AC worked. The cocktails were good. Lounge is nice and comfortable. Laundry service is super fast and inexpensive. Shower pressure is awesome.

it is a compound-- separated from the town and all by itself. cannot walk anywhere from there.
Staff was wonderful, helpful, friendly. rooms are pleasant and comfortable. food was excellent.

AC was ok but not always as cool as I would have liked.
Quiet area of Abuja with a great lobby for breakfast and to have work meetings. There is access to a big poo and wel equippedl gym and restaurant which I all used in the evenings for workouts and dinner. Rooms are simple and functional.

What I still can't decide is if I want to keep paying so much whenever I visit Abuja, especially when I'm only in town for just 1 night. The hotel is fantastic but it's not cheap at all. Also, the location is remote and the roads leading there are not nice at all.
I really like this hotel. I stayed there before and wanted to stay there again, just to be sure my first experience was not a one-off. I am glad to say it was just like the previous time. There is peace of mind as to the security of the place. Great hotel with fantastic staff, and the BluCabana restaurant that is next door is a brilliant icing on the cake.

The limited option for breakfast was an issue for me. The Blucabana restaurant was the next option for my meal. I hope the in-room dinning capacity is improved.
The breakfast was good with limited options. I loved the location, privacy and cleanliness of the environment. I will love to come back for a vacation to relax.

Administrative details let down this property. Check out process was very tedious - long wait at the counter where one overstretched staff was dealing with multiple guests at the same time. Most frustrating though was the fact that they couldn't take payment off a non-Nigerian card - very surprising for a property with so many foreign guests.
Really nice hotel, clean and very pleasant ambiance. Being next to BluCabana is an added bonus.
