Darren has really set up an oasis from the beautiful landscape, outside lights, sun beds, beach chairs hammocks and courtyard pool. The staff members made a great impression on us their friendly and attentive service is top notch. Thank you Ana, Francisco, Matias and Valentina for making us feel welcome and special. We had an awesome time. It was our last place before we get back to home. We wanted to relax and chill, so Jakes on the beach was perfect! Very nice people and the rooms are very clean. Perfect place at the beach!

We never got an A/C remote, so they had to give us one from another guest.

Can’t think of a thing.

Bright, modern airy rooms, large bathroom, good shower water pressure. Lovely central courtyard with many lounging beds, hammocks and a pool. Steps to a clean sandy beach, short stroll to many beachside restaurants. The breakfasts are hearty and delicious. We really enjoyed our stay, and extended it by a day as we didn’t want to leave this beachside paradise!

No heated showers, but with the weather this was not a problem.

The property had a great relaxed and friendly feel to it. The rooms are well planned out for maximum space, the breakfasts were delicious and generous, and the pool and ocean proximity were great.

We had a small invader in our roof (a kind of iguana) and we had to change rooms, but of course, this wasn't under management's control and they handled it very quickly.

We loved the hospitality, the treatment, the breakfast, and the immediate consideration for our wellbeing. Darren was a great host.

Amazing stay! Darren is very friendly and also jake, do not worry about his size, he’s a big dog because he have a big heart! One of the dogs with best behavior I ever seen. The hotel is still under construction in some areas, which lends a less than full experience, but all will be finished soon.

Incredible staff! We were scattered with our needs and wants and the staff accommodated us beautifully. The courtyard is absolutely transportive - a slice of heaven. Food was delicious! This is a small, just 5 rooms, facility which creates a personal and safe vibe. I look forward to returning!

It was under construction, which we were not made aware of prior to our visit. We were told when we arrived that there was some minor construction and that we would not hear much noise, although there was lots of noise during the day and before 8am. However, it didn't limit our use of the facilities. There was no hot water, which was a huge bummer. Booking.com did not inform us that there was no hot water, and when I asked the owner... his response was that "it's common, and most find it refreshing" assuming I should just deal with it. Was no apology for the misunderstanding or miscommunication. There's no housekeeping and the beds are very hard. Also, they only accepted cash. Booking.com stores my CC info and I was under the impression that I was paying through that platform. I was sent a message saying most places only accept cash and to use ATM's in Leon, but it was never direct or clear that "Jake's on the Beach" only accepted cash. It was general, and almost like a suggestion for me to have cash but not a requirement. One of the owner's, Rod, was our host. He was nice, friendly, and hospitable. The only concern I had was that he smoked often, and would leave cigarettes buds around, which we did not find professional. The incident that alarmed me was the last night. It was later around 10:30pm, and my wife and I were having a serious conversation sitting by the beach, when he came and sat right behind me smoking and drinking a bottle of beer. We do not smoke, and it bothers our lungs. He just said "disculpa me" and sat down. I think he was intoxicated, maybe, and just too relaxed around us. It wasn't professional. After taking a walk on the beach, we returned around 11pm and found that he had left his beer bottle in the sand and all lights out.

The location was great! Right there with great access to the beach. The vibe is more relaxed. We had the place to ourselves, which was nice. The pool was refreshing and was kept clean. The rooms were clean.

This place was amazing start to finish. I felt like family, but still had privacy. The breakfasts here were some of the best meals I’ve had since I’ve been here. On top of that, Jake is there and he is just the best dog. I can’t recommend this place enough. Beach access with places to eat/drink in both directions. If that’s not your thing they have a kitchen and fridge for your items.
