It's an incredible experience. Authentic setting and atmosphere. Just unbelieveble! The rooms are very simple but comfortable. The mattress and pillows are very comfortable. The soundproofing is simply amazing. Toilets and showers are in perfect condition. Wonderful prison. I didn't want to dig down or crawl down a drainpipe to escape from it😆😆

The novel restoration of the former prison into unique shops and hostel lodgings was brilliant! The hostel is super quiet (thick walls), clean, and filled with human warmth and conviviality. The staff is cordial and helpful; beds comfy; bathroom modern and pristine. The #3 bus stops directly at the entrance but it is a comfortable walk to the train.

The beds are not made you have to do that yourself, which is very strange because the rooms are being cleaned and it takes not much effort to have the cleaning staff make the beds. It would greatly lead to a more wholesome experience

The location is truly unique. Being in an old prison sleeping in the cells is a very surreal experience.

There was no mat in the shower and it was slippy. I appreciate that this is a budget hostel, nevertheless, the absence of a shower mat was hazardous in my view

The heater was turned off when we had arrived which was a bit cold but after I turned on it warmed up the room quickly so it was ok.

At first when we arrived to our room it was so cold and it only got warm on the second day. The bathroom and toilet were clean and nice, but also really cold and we couldn’t figure out how to get warm water in the toilet room to brush our teeth.

The location was good and staff were nice. It was in the city, so we could go anywhere fast and we could rent the bikes from the hostel for a low price

Mother said the sink had no warm water, but that could have been a temporary issue or simply done by design. It wasn't really a big deal.

I booked a room at Alibi's for my mother. She is usually picky but she ended up being very happy with her room. She took a lot of pictures and was amused by the setting. The room was warm, the toilet clean and the bed comfortable. Me and my partner had breakfast with her and enjoyed a good coffe together. Breakfast was good, there was a bit of everything, not too much but not too little. Overall I would recommend the place and will most likely book for her again here. Mother thought the staff was kind and friendly.

Nothing bad to say. But this hostel is not for you if you are not up for the fun experience.

It's a fun hostel to stay. Don't expect great comfort, as it meant to recreate a prison experience. I love the small prison museum at the ground floor and it gave quite a bit of historical context. Also we got let out at the end :)

Located in a historic prison complex, they had an exhibit on the ground level explaining the history of the complex and how it worked.There were restaurants and a cafe close by. Cool little shops as well. Lift is handy if you're coming with heavy bags or suitcases. The room and bathroom was big enough. It was super clean. The beds were comfortable. They kept little features of the jail cell like the switches and the button to open the cell door with which was a nice touch. The staff were efficient and friendly with checking us in and out. They also gave good tips on places to see and where to eat.

Breakfast was disappointing for the price we paid. Room was quiet and had basic comforts. It was an interesting and unique experience which was great fun. No creature comforts as would be expected in a prison cell.

Unfortunatley there wasn't secure bike parking on site but there was a secure bike park facility fairly near by. Don't know if the hostel would entretain people bringing their bikes into their rooms - there is space.

A great quirky hostel in a former gaol complex (the hostel is only one small part so needs a bit of finding). Very clean, simple rooms, newly refurbished with well designed shared areas and clean shower area. Despite that it still retains the feel of a former gaol - great conversation piece. Staff very friendly and accomodating. On the edge of the town centre. Good value.

The room with an automatic locking mechanism and a window with short breathing space was a bit claustrophobic.

The rooms are spacious and super secure. The location is comfortable for any plans on the city of Leeuwarden. Although bathrooms, showers, and the kitchen are shared, it was enough room for everyone.
