We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

NetherlandsA lot of things, starting with the shower: no pressure and the shower was leaking, also it took some 5 minutes for the water to heat. The lights in the bathroom were also not well maintained, so 2 of them were barely on. The room is very poorly isolated, we could hear noises from the room next to ours, from the square in front of the hotel and from the hallway. The door has a huge opening on the bottom, which they tried to close with a piece of wood, but it doesn't solve the problem. We had the impression that people were talking inside of our room. Lastly, the curtains are shorter than the window, which meant a lot of sunlight in the morning, which we weren't expecting in a hotel.
The location is very good, located on one of the main squares in Almere. The staff was friendly, and the beds are comfortable. I liked that the room has a big TV with the possibility to cast from your phone.

CanadaTraffic is restricted in the square, so my GPS was a little confused on directions. I found the hotel easily once I stopped looking at the GPS and started looking at the signs on the buildings. I was able to park just outside the square and walk about 50m to the hotel to check in. We then dropped off our luggage and went to the nearby parkade to park the car. The parkade was easy to find and get in and out of. I would classify this as a micro hotel. The rooms are very small, but highly functional and the room size was not a concern as we knew we would be spending very little time in the room.
The location is excellent! A five minute walk to the train station makes it easy to visit other major cities. The location on the square is fantastic as there are many excellent restaurants and pubs within very close walking distance. We were there during the week and it was pretty quiet after 9:00 p.m., but we were told by locals that the pace in the square can be more energetic on the weekends. There is also excellent shopping available within easy walking distance (8 minutes). I thought the value for the price was excellent.

United KingdomI messaged the hotel having read other reviews about the noise, if it was going to be a problem I needed to cancel for my elderly person staying in one of the 3 rooms booked, they told me not to worry it would be fine, we were all kept awake till 3/4am each night by nightclub music and the party goers hanging around outside. When I messaged them they just said there was nothing they could do about outside noise. 1 - be honest so I could cancel 2 - change the windows so you can't hear the noise.

GermanyI understand it's cheap. Very small room, didn't have a problem with that. It says they have parking and they don't. It wasn't a problem. But you can't sleep there. All the doors slam, you hear everything in the room. The refrigerator goes on 10 times a night. It's like an engine that's running low and dies. When someone flushes the toilet you hear everything in the room. In the morning you hear the maids slamming everything, actually standing outside the door talking, it's adorable. The next day we went to the pharmacy and bought earplugs. If you don't want to sleep it's perfect for you.
I loved it while I was away from there.

United KingdomHotel Cataleya provided four nights of absolutele comfort and bliss in a superbly clean room with a spacious bathroom, free Wi-Fi, quite outside environment and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the employees of Hotel Cataleya; including when I needed an iron: they provided me with one! Everything was tailored towards making my stay as enjoyable as possible and I had an exceptionally good experience at Hotel Cataleya! There was always someone to greet us or send us off with a smile on reception and that made me feel very assured - there was the human touch, unlike in many hotels nowadays (where you sometimes even have an online check-in desk/reception). The lift was always in working order and the room was replenished with bathroom essentials (shower cap, shampoo, shower gel, cotton buds, etc) after each clean. I recomment a stay in this hotel for anyone wanting to explore Amsterdam, but have a restuful night at the end of each day! I am certainly going to be returning to Hotel Cataleya in I am ever back in the Netherlands - thank you so much, you have been beyong amazing!
