It was Kingsday weekend so it was noisy, seemed like the window was open onto the street but it wasn't. Couldn't find WiFi code in the room, no info booklet.

The heating switches off in the evening - I got to my room late and was absolutely freezing! Took me an hour of shivering underneath two duvets to get warm… I tried to turn the heating on but it didn’t kick into action until the next morning.

Being charged extra for paying my stay. Television system: start up screen and how to get rid off that screen annoying. Another thing I don't like is writing reviews!

friendly welcome. Stayed here many years ago but refurbishment has made a great improvement. Room was spacious and comfortable. Having a kettle in the room was a bonus. Well located in the centre of town.

Avoid rooms facing the market square on Tuesday nights as the early setting up of the Wednesday market stalls are likely to disturb your sleep.

Very helpful staff, large comfortable room and wet room. Excellent breakfast and meals served in their adjacent restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere and conveniently close to all facilities, including railway station, shops, market, an excellent museum and the very reasonably priced town hall underground car park. An excellent centre for visiting the Drenthe Moor megalithic remains.

Decoration of rooms very standard and did not give a luxury feeling. Bed was not too comfortable.

Not very clean, specially public areas such as hallways and elevators. Restaurant is clean. Rooms are very basic, the furniture is kinda old and run down, there is not a minibar or an iron. Bathroom is not good, it was hot all the time not well ventilated. Shower does not even have a doors or a curtain. Toiletries are almost non-existent, just a couple of tiny general purpose soap tubes and a small soap bar. No space whatsoever for personal items and other toiletries. Towels are clean. The room's carpet seems old and not very clean.

Staff is super nice and diligent, very helpful. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is included, the buffet is nice, but not great. Location is fantastic. Close to the city's main attractions and located in a lovely neighborhood and near very good restaurants and pubs. Beware that the hotel is in the city center and the market sets on this square on Wednesdays and Saturdays; I love markets so for me it's great, but not so much for people who don't like busy places. Lots of good parking options nearby. Restaurant has a very nice terrace.

The receptionist that welcomed us upon our arrival was extremely helpful managing to secure us a disability room for one of our group. She was amazing - nothing too much trouble. All rooms were lovely & clean with beds really comfortable. We will be staying again next year - lovely hotel & staff - thank you from us all.

The nearest parking was 100 metres away. This was no problem for me on a short trip but if I came with my family and had suitcases to carry, it would be very inconvenient. The shower has followed fashion but it is bad fashion. There is no door and the water flows over the floor of half the bathroom. A disaster I have seen in many hotels. If I know in advance I look for a different hotel. There is no table one can use for a laptop.

The breakfast room has a beautiful view over the market square. The breakfast is extensive and varied too. The central location made it easy to wander around the city centre.
