Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe mattrasses of the cots were not great. They were a bit too thin. The breakfast was good, but a bit pricey for what you pay for.
The hotel was really nice. It was located outside the city and in the forest. The hotel room was really big and it was on 2 levels. Enough space to add beds/ cots for kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

United Kingdomthe flies in hot weather can be a little annoying…but hardly the hotel’s fault is it?
Staff super friendly and helpful. Easy to hire ebikes which are essential for the location. Large split-level room with jacuzzi bath and big shower. Good WiFi. Nice fresh breakfast too. All set in a beautiful wooded location. What’s not to like? All in all, I’ll be back next year without hesitation….

Netherlands- streets around at night have absolutely no lamp posts. So when walking the dog before going to bed, we had to take our flashlight. Some light is shed only by the little pond/lake in front of the hotel - just a consideration for future guests who are coming with pets: please, upon check-in maybe better specify that if the main entrance is locked, indeed we can use the back door but nobody told us or there was no indication of the direction to take in order not to end up in the property of the neighbors where off-leash dogs are guarding and obviously not happy of a foreigner dog walking by with her owners in order to exit the Hotel ;-)
- Hotel has a restaurant. We liked this option since after much walking with our dog, we really did not want to get into the car and search for a place where to have dinner - place is dog-friendly and dogs are allowed even in the restaurant or during breakfast - bathroom had indeed a bath tub, perfect to warm up and relax after walking all day - very nice and picturesque location in the Dutch countryside

NetherlandsSince the hotel is an old building, the walls are a little thin. A dog barking at night or people speaking in another room can sometimes be heard in the evening.
Friendly staff, great breakfast & good amenities. The hotel is an old building, which made the layout of the room unique. Very quiet and peaceful at night. The location of the hotel is great for hiking, nature is right across the stream, next to the water mill.

GermanyThe guys at the restaurant need to be more customer service-oriented. After receiving the main dish, I asked for some bread. What I received was the huge plate of bread with different sauces, which was more expensive than the main dish. So I would suggest not to try to sell but hear the customer's needs. Good luck guys!
Location was really nice - in the middle of nowhere. What we liked the most was the room - spacious and really nice ancient style. The bed was really comfortable. The owner of the hotel was a really friendly and professional guy.

CanadaThis was an unexpected gem of a hotel. It's a little off the beaten path but is very historic and interesting (which we like). The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The restaurant was superb! The chef's choice (3 course dinner) was fabulous.

My husband and I stayed here for only one night on our way back to England from Denmark. We were so lucky to have booked one of the 5 rooms they have for a rest on the long journey home. We had our two dogs with us , the area with its fantastic walks surrounding the hotel was perfect . We were made to feel relaxed and welcomed. Our room was large , clean and very comfortable. The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath , exceptionally. The evening meal was delicious, we only wish we could have stayed for breakfast but our onward journey time didn’t allow us to . But when we said to the manager that we had to leave by 6am , she straight away offered us a packed lunch to have later . Very nice and a real treat . We would love to go back and explore the area, and have another few days staying at this wonderful little hotel . We counted ourselves very lucky to have found it .

SwitzerlandThere are no real Windows so the room is very dark, it was sunny outside but I had to switch on the light… The room was partly cleaned, only towels exchanged but my bed not done and the coffee machine not refilled and rearranged. The breakfast was agreed for 7:30 ( I asked 7:15) but was too early for them), the second morning when I went to take it, everything was closed and silent, I had to find a hidden door to go outside and reach the kitchen Windows to ask someone the status of the breakfast. I booked for 3 nights but did only 2 because of that.
The area is fine, quiet, what I was looking for. The restaurant is ok.

United KingdomOur only negative which isn't the hotel owners fault at all was the house behind were not quick to clear up their dogs mess so the back access you had to avoid that when walking round.
We used the hotel as a stop over on our outward and return journey home. The staff were fantastic. Location was absolutely stunning. Next to a stud so we also got to watch the mares and foals being brought in from the fields. Food was excellent for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Beds comfortable, rooms were huge and beautiful. Breakfast was fabulous. So dog friendly they even have a dog menu if you need it and location was fantastic for walking them. Would absolutely stay here again. We all loved it and were sad too leave!
