How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

For this price, the room could have been a bit better quality. Among others, the flush of the toilet would occasionally keep running. The door to my room did not fully close on its own: I had to give it always an extra push or pull it shut before leaving. Also, the staff seemed sometimes reluctant to go the extra mile. I heard a lot about what is not possible rather than what is possible. For example receiving my invoice printed the moment I paid was considered an "Exception" - I am happy I insisted, because it took forever and I did not want to have this hassle at checkout.
The hotel was quiet and it was a good place to land after a busy work day. Maybe a small thing to mention: Sometimes in these big hotels you keep waiting for the elevator forever. Not here, I always got one in time and did not have to wait long. Maybe I was lucky and outside of "rush hour", but it as a nice detail.

The thermostat in the room; the room was a bit too warm with nothing that can be done about it.

There is no self laundry services. No pressing iron in the room.
The entire facility is very clean and the staff are helpful.

All fine, except that I paid a lot of money for what I thought would be a double or king size bed, but was put into a room with two singles.

The interior looked quite old and worn out. The beds were moving quite easily as they had wheels. There were not many lights in the room, so it was quite dark in the evening. Overall, I expected more given the brand of the hotel, the ratings and the price.
The location was great - a short walk from metro station towards Centraal and centre. The room was big enough for two people. The reception staff was polite and kind.

The bathroom was separated from the bedroom with a glass, and you can see through it when a person is taking a shower so it is not completely private...
Nice and clean rooms. Location is great. Parking underground.

They didn’t clean the sheets , the were dirty when we came we set it a side before leaving in the morning and where the stain was to show it to room cleaning but they just put the sheets upside down

Service in the restaurant... this was the issue the front desk people dealt with so efficiently and well.
Location was ideal for my needs.. The reception staff, especially the evening staff, were really great... I had a problem and they resolved it speedily and better than I could have expected...

The bathroom is not suitable for older people. The soaps are out of reach from the bath and there's a very dangerous glass corner at head height. The bath is a slip hazard and should be resolved urgently.

Pillows could be better . Luggage rack would have been nice to have . Bathtub was hard to get in and out of. The side was so high to step over . I prefer an enclosed walk in shower. The LIGHTING is HORRIBLE !
Loved the floor to ceiling windows. Bed was comfortable . Reception staff were all wonderful ! Very helpful

It was further from Central than I thought, that was my fault. I did email to ask if any immigrant were staying at the hotel, I was told there wasn't but there was. We were given a room on arrival that was being used, it was floor to ceiling stacked with plastic bags of cloths and a child buggy was there. We were relocated to another room.
The hotel and staff were fantastic. Tram Stop just outside of the hotel. We had two evening meals at the hotel that were value for money and very tasty.
