Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceThere is nothing not to like in this hotel.
Gallrery Dis is a small, very tasteful hotel located at the heart of the old part of Maasticht. Every little detail has been taken care of by the owner to guarantee a memorable stay. The folder contaning information about the sights of Maastricht is very helpful for the visitor. The free breakfast buffet is an exra plus.

United StatesWe had to bring 4 suitcases 3 floors up and down on very cute but tiny stairs.
Clean, spacious, cozy, great location. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Free espresso coffee and tea both in the room and at the reception.

IrelandExperienced some noise disturbances during the night (Saturday). Understandable as it’s an old building, minor detail but could be worth getting carpet up the entire stairs to prevent it. Other than that could not find fault :)
Location couldn’t be better, just 5 minutes walk from shops and restaurants. Very spacious room and bathroom which had separated toilet. Good hotel for families and although they don’t do a sit down breakfast anymore, they have some take-away bits to bring back to your room from reception. Overall some thoughtful touches in place for visitors.

ItalyThis is a small place with just a few rooms in a historic building in the quiet, cobble-stone streets area of Maastricht. The location is perfect, charming and beautiful. The room was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. The views over the rooftops are definitely a plus, and made us feel we were in a special part of town. The reception staff and cleaning personnel were both welcoming and attentive. It has a family-run small hotel feeling. I would return here when coming back to town.

United KingdomAll OK for me.
The hotel rooms had all you need and was very spacious. For food and drink you need to go out. But it is in the heart of all so not a problem.

CyprusThe only downside is the lack of an elevator, especially if staying at the higher floors, but the staff is keen to take your belongings upstairs themselves, so this is less of a concern.
Very comfortable room at a good price. The location of the hotel is great. The staff of the hotel is very pleasant and eager to assist in any way.

AustraliaTwo main two pet peeves would be these: the door between the reception/room really is not fit for purpose. It doesn't close properly, has no acoustic properties and feel like an utility room door vs actual hotel room door. Everything that happens at reception can be heard and is noticeable. Second minor item is the backdoor was unlocked (and had no key to lock) in addition to the pillows which urgently need replacing.
Location, fabulous. Staff, very nice. No breakfast but minor alternative offered, overall really good service, espresso maker in the room, good shower etc etc and little to complain except one or two small and easy to fix things.

SwitzerlandWe were lucky that our neighbour room and also the room upstairs had quiet guests like we are. The building is historical, so quite noisy (floors, stairs).
Nice hotel room in a historical building. We stayed with 3 people in room 3, which was very spacious. We only stayed 1 night because of the Andre Rieu concert.

United KingdomRoom 3 bath/shower was a challenge to get in and out and an accident waiting to happen. You have to lift yourself about 3/4 metre to get in and the nothing to support you climbing out with a big drop and bath mats on tiled floors that slip not a good thing...forget this room for aged or less mobile. Also the typical Dutch staircases, lots of small and steep stairs but expected in an old property.
Comfortable beds, lovely and ideal location, staff friendly, clean rooms, very big and with lots of light and air. Lovely to have tea and coffee and room tidied each day.
