How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room was very small. There was dust in the room. When aircondition was on, i had allergic reaction, because of dustyness. The carpet was dirty. There was no fridgerator or electric kettle in the room.
Breakfast was good. The stuff was friendly and helpful. Room was quiet. Good public transportation. Good beds.

The breakfast was a bit pricey but think that is standard in Amsterdam hotels.
It was easy to find and good transport links. The room was clean, quiet and lovely and warm. Found the bed really comfortable and slept really well. The staff were very helpful too.

No space to put luggage
Cozy rooms with very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Easy access to a bus for city center. Rooms were quiet and sound proofed.

In my opinion, it is too expensive considering the location of the hotel and size of the room.
Modern hotel. Room was small but bed comfortable, bathroom very clean I like specially the people at reception, very nice, very polite, and specailly helpful

I did not like just having a quilt with no sheets in between it and the mattress. Without it, it was cold; with it, it was too hot. Some sheets would have been nice.
I liked the possibility of there being 3 people in the same room, and the mattress and the pillow were not bad.

Triple room was small for three people. Literally a standard room with other furniture removed and replaced by a single bed.

Not bad if you’re looking for a cheap hotel in Amsterdam. Quite far away from the city centre, but you can walk which takes about 45 minutes or use public transport. There are no shops around the hotel and the only restaurant is burger king next door. Staff were very nice. It would be nice to have a small fridge in the room and a hairdryer.

They have zero flexibility and showed no interest in helping me out. Tried cancelling the booking 30 min after making it (over a month before the stay). No. Asked if I could transfer it to a friend. No. Requested 2 single beds instead of a big one. No. All of that with cold, robotic answers (by humans). No need to be like this. At the very least, answer messages like a proper human being.
The stay was actually pleasant. Little room for storage in the room, and the toilet felt like a boat bathroom, but otherwise, ok.

Pillows were very thin and beds were very hard, probably wouldn’t stay again due to this. The hotel is quite far out from the centre so make sure you allow time if you are making trips to the centre. We took the number 22 bus which was definitely faster than the tram but quite annoying if you stay out abit later in the centre.
Very clean, nice view! Basic facilities but overall happy.

The room was really cold and I would have liked it if they would have explained at checkin time that bedsheets and towels are not changed every day by default. You need to explicitly request it
The location was quite good. There is a metro stop nearby and also a bus stop. Bus 22 goes to Amsterdam Central. Also there was a Burger King next door

I kindly advise you to provide your guests with different pillows... they are full of air!! Ik woke up several times because of that. The rest was great!!

There are no stores around the hotel, only burger king right next to it. Lidl is a kilometer away, and everything else is even farther up. It's far away from the city, 30 minutes by tram or 20 by a bike. Metro is nearby but the tickets are a bit expensive for every day.
The staff was very helpful and polite, rooms were kept clean (everyday) and overall it was very comfortable.
