Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThere is not much to say negatively. Due to the season, we didn't get to use the pool, so it's hard to express our opinion about it.
Wow! A wonderful experience from the moment you enter the complex until you leave. The place itself is beautiful, an ancient and special building, a large and elaborate room, a pleasant and luxurious bath. The evening meal was above and beyond any expectation - an experience of flavors, wonderful service and everything was done precisely and with a smile. The place is surrounded by a stunningly beautiful forest, a short bike trip through the forest was a beautiful and experiential experience. The staff is pleasant, helpful and helpful in everything. Without a doubt we will recommend to our friends and will return.

SwitzerlandIt was an excellent stay, the service is more casual than we expected and some of the staff less seasoned. Overall everyone was very friendly.
Gorgeous estate in the Dutch countryside, 1.5 hours by car from Amsterdam. The rate itself includes half board and you dine at a 1 Michelin star restaurant (excellent food!). We traveled with our 5 year old and really enjoyed our stay. The gardens, heated outdoor swimming pool and our room was great. We had the deluxe room overlooking the front lawn of the estate. It included a small sitting area and a generously sized, modern bathroom. Once you make your reservation, the property informs you that children are not permitted to watch/use phones or their tablet in the dining room, but they could watch it in the salon next to it. I was a bit concerned at first, as how can I expect a 5 year old to sit through 3 nights of 4 course meals? But the dining room is lively, so you don’t have to whisper and the salon has glass windows so you can watch your child if they go there while you eat. The reception team was great, helped us book e bikes and horse riding lessons.

NetherlandsThe bed was not very comfortable but for the rest, Covid meant that we could not enjoy the hotel at its best which is of course not the hotels fault but in my opinion perhaps the prices could reflect this. Also in this day and age I would expect all the tv channels that I get at home but they only have a limited number of channels. But nothing that would put me off coming back as it really is a stunning property
The hotel has the most wonderful location in the middle of the woods and the hotel itself and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately the weather let us down so we could not spend too much time by the pool, or cycling around the area but as the pool is heated we managed to have a quick swim before we left. Of course due to Covid we were restricted to having dinner and breakfast in our room but they made the very best out of a difficult situation, from the champagne at 6pm to the delicious and ample breakfast the next morning. I can imagine that Christmas here would be truly magical with all the fireplaces on and the hotel decorated beautifully and so I look forward to coming back.

SwedenBe prepared to walk up narrow steep stairs as there is no elevator. However, the staff will help carry bags up and down the stairs. I got a resonable, though high price for the room via Hotels.com Generally a quite pricy hotel.
This is an accommodation with a nice location in the forest with a beautiful garden. Service is very good. The room had the amenities one would expect in a high standard hotel. Dinner was a tasting menu with wonderful dishes.
