It was okay, but a bit disappointing for the price.

There was no key for the door from the kitchen/living room into the garden , so when we wanted to go into the garden we had to walk back through the whole house and round the side. This was a bit unpractical when we wanted to eat at the table in the garden. I contacted the host on the day we arrived, who told me that the previous guests couldn't remember where they had left the key, which I found a bit of a strange answer. It also made me a wee bit worried about security. There was no effort to provide a replacement key or to change the lock during our stay. The kitchen/living room also got quite stuffy, because we couldn't open the back door and only one window could be tilted open a little bit. One of the bedrooms and the bathroom didn't have a window that opens, only a little vent, so the air was a bit stale. There was also a problem with the sealant/insulation around the living room windows. This became evident one night when it was heavy rain, and we noticed slugs crawling along the wall inside the living room from out of the side of the window frames! A couple of things in the house were a wee bit rundown: the kitchen tap and the toilet door handle were both loose and wobbly. There was a wee note to say that some things were broken when we arrived, alongside a welcome message on the big noticeboard on the living room wall - which had another family's name written on it.

The location was good: only 5/10 mins walk to the waterside. The house is in a nice little quiet residential area with a great playpark for young children. The garden at the house was great and my daughter loved playing on the trampoline. The beds were clean and there was plenty of clean sheets and towels. The shower was decent.
