Thoughtful touches throughout… Lots of pre-snacks and drinks in both room and the communal areas, refillable water bottle, communication via WhatsApp, and an excellent location. Relatively quiet, too.

A warm and welcoming reception with friendly, helpful, and informative staff. We loved the cute black and white quote postcards that were free to take. In fact, we loved the black and white branding throughout. We loved the quirky dining/kitchen area with the vintage decor. We enjoyed playing the games provided whilst having a complimentary coffee, herbal water, and pastries. We had a good value for money buffet breakfast a couple of times with lots of healthy options and delicious fresh bread. The bedroom was spacious, overlooking the canal with beautiful houses opposite. The sweets on the bed on arrival were a nice touch. We loved the refillable tap water bottle provided.The bed and bedding were comfortable, and with the blackout curtains closed, we had lots of refreshing sleeps. The decor was modern and bright. The bathroom was small but perfectly formed with local eco-friendly luxurious toiletries that smell divine. The domestics did a great job keeping the room refreshed and spic and span each day. We liked that we could change the bedroom temperature to our preference. The area is the perfect location for exploring Amsterdam on foot. The Anne Frank house is minutes away. There are tram stops nearby. We appreciated the goody bag of Amsterdam treats on departure. We loved everything about this hotel and would recommend it to family and friends. My review is based on who I am, an American used to big rooms. We had 3 people in the room, so it would always be crowded, but just remember, Dutch hotels are much smaller, as they have a lot less room to work with.

This is an older hotel and you can sometimes hear from some of the other rooms. This is typically not an issue unless your neighbor is a loud talker, stomping around, or enjoying a passionate love making session.

Great little hotel located on a side street in the Jordaan neighborhood. Within walking distance to most everything. If you are looking to avoid the city center with the crowds and tourists then this is the spot for you. Typically when we travel we like to stay in the residential neighborhood on the outskirts of the touristy areas. We will walk to the attractions, see what we want to see, and then retreat to home base. This hotel was perfect for that. The staff were welcoming and the amenities are what you would expect from a smaller boutique style hotel. We had a great view of the streetscape and enjoyed our stay. There is even a lounge area to relay and sip on some coffee while taking a respite during the day. Situated in a neighborhood setting, there were several local restaurants and pubs within a few steps away.

We really liked the location and the friendliness of the staff. It’s a very welcoming place to stay. There is lots of information available for visitors to enhance their experience in the city. Such as tours or suggestions of places to visit. As a plus, we had a lovely canal view from our room.

Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel as a whole feels more personable than the chain hotel options in Amsterdam. Location was perfect for us too, walking distance from all attractions. Our room wasn't ready at usual check in time but within half hour it was and we got a free upgrade which was very kind. They also provide free hot drinks in the communal area which was also a great touch.

Location was excellent. Typical Amsterdam canal street with lovely views. Staff was friendly and professional with a very no nonsense approach you would expect from being in the Netherlands. International staff felt very integrated in the Dutch city, very diverse employees, which I love to see.

Everything was perfect!

Тhe hotel was superb. I was very impressed that we had free coffee, water (with mint and lemon!), soft drinks and rolls available in the afternoon. The setting is very cozy and we enjoyed spending time in the hotel lobby. On departure we received a gift. There was also a polaroid camera with which we took pictures as a souvenir. I recommend the hotel with both hands. Thank you Mr. Jordaan! Will come again!

The boss of the staff was not the friendliest. The rest of the staff were lovely.

We had the attic room and although the bathroom was very small and we had to bend down to avoid hitting our heads when getting in and out of bed, the room was charming.
