How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We didn't appreciate the additional charges that has been excluded for the price. So, from 304 that was supposed to be the price, we payed 354 euros for municipality taxes etc. Usually this cost is included in the price you get.

I was given an option to upgrade for extra fees. I did choose the option, but when we reached the property with the expectations of the upgrade, I was told that I couldn't avail of it as I had kids with me. This was strange as my original booking was with kids. If you can't offer upgrades, don't offer and increase the expectations.

We felt that the cost of the room was expensive, especially as it didn't include breakfast. Similarly, the hotel charges an additional fee for using their car park, which we felt should be included in the room rate.
Clean, well appointed room. Comfortable bed. Enjoyed the Rituals products in the bathroom. You can use the hotel's city bikes for an additional charge if you want. We were able to take our dog with us for an additional €25 and were provided with a dog welcome pack containing food and treats in our room.

There no any fish selection at all for breakfast.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, not too hot in rooms, coffee machine in the room.

Far too hot.. turned Air con right down still to hot , turned air on off and window open.. to far from centre Shower was ok but kept going red hot

We chose a smaller room this time and there was not a single towel bar/ or hook to be had. Yet to help the environment we should not leave towels on the floor daily. Minor issue though.
The location is excellent. There is good parking. The front desk staff are lovely and helpful. The breakfast is great and breakfast staff are very happy and welcoming. We have stayed here multiple times and will be back.

We visited during Christmas which is a busy time in Maastricht. But we got good rooms in our budget. Rooms were good and clean. Staff was super helpful and friendly. There is also a small indoor play area near the restaurant to keep the kids busy.

extra fee for parking I did not expect. Plus the parking is just open / outside in front of the hotel, so everyone can get in and out. Not sure why I should pay extra for that. For the room rate breakfast could be included...

Nothing, all was good.
Excellent breakfast, good variety of food and drinks. Spacious and clean family room, comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff at reception and bar. Loved the little kids corner, they also have a nice garden and playground.

We enjoyed the pool! And the garden and the nice big secluded playground where the kids could get they’re energy out without bothering anyone. Breakfast was great, freshly made eggs, really good croissants and fresh bread, delicious melon. The bed was comfortable. We got a real double bed and room within babyphone reach from the bar as requested. Staff were friendly and welcoming and very nice to the children.

It’s bit dated but good value for the money. Also not that happy about having to pay for the parking extra.
Its Brilliant location, 15 min walk to the river and all the Shops and restaurants. They also prepared for our dog little goodie bag in our room on arrival. Kids got activity packs that kept them busy when we went out in the evening.
