Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe technology was a bit perplexing. The coffee/hot water machine was only available in German but solved by trial and error. Similarly the tv was not immediately east to comprehend/operate. The location is close to the main police station and on two nights I was awakened by police sirens. The University of Applied Sciences is also not far away and it seemed that young people chatted and socialised in Prinsenstraat most evenings. Neither of these interruptions affected my enjoyment of the stay. The furnishings include animal skulls with antlers on the wall, cow skin on the floor and a fur rug on the sofa, a chandelier made of antlers. As a vegetarian I would have preferred they were not there.
It was a self-catering apartment. I called a given telephone number to be given the code for the key box. Location was perfect for me arriving by train. It is very close to Groningen Museum and also other key sites of Groningen.

DenmarkThere was a misunderstanding about the city tax. Overall, I don't think the host handled the situation very well from the beginning. I was told to pay €8 for the night (2 adults), by putting cash on the dinner table, but booking.com's receipt said I had paid ~€11 already (I misread it as paid, so my bad on that on), and I assumed the host just reminded me to ensure it was paid. When it was first mentioned, the word "City Tax" wasn't the word of choice, and the price didn't match what booking.com said, so my first thought was I already had paid 'a' tax, and the other name mentioned would either be a scam, or a friendly reminder to ensure it was paid. On the day of checking out, I was yelled at over the phone for not paying the €8 on the table, because I assumed I already had paid it. While yelling at me, the host told me to check the receipt again, and my bank statements, to see I was in the wrong. I did just that right after the call, acknowledged I indeed hadn't paid the city tax, and tried calling back multiple times with no answer. Right after I also sent a SMS asking for IBAN etc. to transfer the amount, but as of today still no reply.
Everything about the place and location was perfect, and the atmosphere inside the apartment was excellent.

we went to Groningen for a Wedding, and this place had everything we needed for a comfortable stay there: excellent location, comfortable beds, nice living room, spacious bathroom, and even an iron for the clothes! Definitely 10/10! Communication with the host was easy vía whatsapp and call. He was friendly and nice.

Spain- If you travel for work I definitely do not recommend this place. There are a few apartments in front and above that are rented by students. They are super noisy until very late, they were shouting and making noise until at least 3 am. When you need to work the next day, this is a big issue as I was not able to rest properly and is having an impact on my work. - It is a bit claustrophobic: you can't open any of the windows without having a bit of privacy. It is very annoying having people right at your window. - The kettle was very dirty inside so I did not dare to warm water for tea. - I asked for a parking location and the owner took me to a place that is not allowed to circulate. I appreciate that he gave me a solution but I really hope I will not receive a fine because my car was not allowed to access that specific area of the city.
The location is amazing, right at the center, there are a lot of stores and restaurants close by. The bed is very comfortable.

IndonesiaVery thin walls, so the upstairs neighbor’s movements were always heard throughout the day and night. Robert could also be more communicative if he wants to stop by (there were two occasions where he dropped by unnannounced - once to switch lamps and once to show someone around the property…)
Great location, very comfortable space with complete facilities. Everything was provided and I felt at home. Robert was very helpful and always so nice.
