How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Surprisingly in such a beautiful place there is no cleaning every day. I guess it’s because there are not many guests, but no cleaning at all even no special staff for cleaning. Just making the bed and changing towels.
Beautiful place, comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommended. Great and friendly staff. Good breakfast.

The receptionist could have been much more friendly and inviting. I’ve never understood why you wouldn’t want to make your guests feel welcomed and happy? The front desk was the only depressing thing about this hotel.
Breakfast was ok, it was a little limited on options, mostly bread and juice.

1: Water in swimming pool was quite cold, we couldn't enjoy it. 2: Breakfast was not interesting. 3: Somewhat overpriced menu in the brasserie.
Very friendly staff. One example, By mistake my wife left her sunglasses in the room when we were leaving and it was brought to us while we were finishing the formalities.

As we came early our room was not ready so we went to have a bite to eat at the hotel bar/restaurant. We ordered a sharing platter with cold meats, cheese, pickles and some Bitterballen and chicken goujons. The cheese they gave us was shocking - they gave us a little piece that obviously came from the grated end as well a piece that came from the "skin" end not even cut into nice cubes as you would expect from any Dutch establishment. When confronting the staff, he said: " yes but this is Old cheese" indicating that it would be a crumbly kind - fair enough, but really giving a grated end to your customers? This basically meant that we didn't bother having our meals at the hotel and went to have them at the nearby town of Oisterwijk... which incidentally was fantastic!
We liked the size and comfort of our room and we loved the Spa - it had 4 types of sauna as well as the hot tub and little pool. (all included with your stay) The surrounding area is lovely as well.

Check- in is at 4, check- out at 10 very early. The swimming pool is closed after 9 PM and opens only at 9 in the morning, it leaves very small amount of time to use the facilities if you want to have walks in the forest or dine out in Oijsterwijk. Lockers in the swimming pool not working, no bathrobe or slippers provided, small towels for wellness center.
Location and territory is great, comfortable bed. Breakfast is tasty but little choice. Good service in the breakfast area.

Although refurbished certain things still look outdated (like the ceilings). Rooms are also not nicely or luxuriously decorated. It is all a bit empty and not attractive. Shower in bath is never my preference. I prefer to have a proper shower. Also position of toilet is too close to the right sink. Breakfast tables were not cleaned immediately after people left and tables were very close together. I think it is quite expensive.
Large room with view on garden and forest. The bathroom furniture with sinks is installed higher than normal which actually works great. Staff was flexible with the end time of breakfast and were even 30 minutes after the official end still serving coffee etc. Also check out was flexible and fast.

Part of the sauna facility was closed not operational at the time they should be available

The couch in the bedroom was worn.
Very nice area and location of the hotel. The room was spacious and the bathroom was great. Loved the hot tub! Good breakfast and a very good restaurant.
