How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The stairs to the room were quite steep.
The location was near to the place we were visiting. The breakfast was good and it was a table service rather than buffet. We had access to kitchen facilities. Free car park.

Before we arrived our host - Paul was in touch and greeted us. He found a safe place for our bikes and showed the entire facility. The rooms were comfortable, nice and very clean, and the presence of a kitchen and a terrace are additional advantages if you want to prepare something to eat and/or relax with friends by a cold beer or aromatic coffee. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully served. Paul deserves the highest rating, all the time he made sure that our stay was comfortable and we lacked nothing. Paul You are great !

Probably the only negative thing would be the toilet not being in a separate enclosed space.
Paul (the host) was fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful and clean hotel. Excellent breakfast!

A great way to preserve a building with a rich history with rooms having a educational theme. The ambiance is very relaxed and modern with a fishpond in the central hallway and rooms have ample light from the large windows. This is a quiet area for uninterrupted sleep and the rooms are very spacious. One of the rooms is converted to the breakfast room and it had a good variety and quality of choices. The owners take great care in the comfort of their guests; this unique hotel has been one of our best stays over the last 20 years. Ample parking space around the hotel.

Paul has the best customer service I have ever experienced, a really really lovely guy who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Everything was comfortable and clean. Best hotel experience we have ever had

Excellent host!! The best we've ever met. We arrived in the late evening and he opened the bar just for us. We left early in the morning and my wife got the coffee and croissants to go - as a gift :). Great great great experience!

we didn’t check properly and the shower and toilet are in the rooms but not in a separate room. it’s divided only by a warderobe so it felt a bit weird, especialy as we were not couples
that was probably the warmest welcome we’ve ever recieved. Paul was amazing! and the breakfast.. all was perfect!

Room was very small. Wifi was slow and stairs to get to the rooms are steep, meaning it would not suit everyone
Lovely place with lovely people. The restaurant is really amazing! So delicious. One of the best breakfast you can find. Bed in the room was very comfortable too

The bed was a bit tough to sleep on, while the room was fine, but a curtain as a bathroom devider is not really the greatest.

The toilet in the room doesn't have a door which was a bit of a shock. While it's not a pricey accommodation, I think this point perhaps should have been made very clear. Of course there's a communal toilet but it's outside. I would prefer if there's a specific secured bike storage for us to lock our bikes that's not the communal toilet or that this was made clear in the listing.
The location is very quiet, with a lovely view across the fields on the communal terrace. The host is very attentive, he greeted us personally and showed us to the rooms & all the facilities available.
