How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast time begins at 7:30, this could be a little late, if you need to leave early.
The location is excellent, close to city center, train station, yet calm. You get a discount for bike rental at a nearby bike shop. Friendly staff.

That sometimes you need to make a reservation for a table to drink a beer ,but it was still ok .
The bed was so comfortable and the location is really near Centrum.

It could probably be expected from the location and it being a hostel, but it was not very quiet, especially during the weekend. Our room was on the second floor and we could hear some noise from outside which was totally bearable, but it was actually noisier from people on the hallways coming back drunk and slamming their doors. Even though we booked a double room (so not the hostel dorm), the bathroom still had the typical hostel bathroom smell.
The location is amazing, really in the center and walking distance to basically everything you might need. The staff was very nice and quick to fulfill any requests or questions that we had. There is also an elevator which was great.

There is no common area. The bar closes at 11 and after that you don’t really have anywhere to go in the building except your room. Most hostels have a common area chill spot. No main bathrooms or floor showers except the one in your room. If you want more privacy or not wake the people up in your room for example.. sink very close to other beds.
Hostel is really centrally located. Great for exploring the area. Clean. Nice bar next door.

Duvets are made of polyester I think so it was getting too warm. Kettle to make some warm water would have been nice.

No kitchen. They don’t clean dorm room on daily basis. In 3 days our room was clean once and I asked for that on reception, because it was very dirty inside. For 40euro per bed, you expect it at least to be clean

No big complaints, The only small issue was that there was very little soap left in the dispenser by the wash basin. I'm sure they'd have refilled it when it ran out if I'd asked, but it was the last day so I just made do with my hand sanitizer.
Check in was quick and smooth. Our room (a double with two single beds) was basic, but very clean and tidy upon arrival. The beds were reasonably comfortable. There was a nice view out of the window, which overlooked the square out front. Excellent location in the city centre!

Perfect for our group of friends. Lots of space in the room which is fantastic. A separate toilet, shower and washbasin is a real plus as all 3 can be in use. Location is great fir events in Utrecht and would stay again.

The only issues were the front lift that didn't work & blinds that came down over the windows obscuring the view which we couldn't control. A chill out area withe comfortable seating. A place to make a cup of tea/coffee.
Central location, warm & clean. The beds are comfortable & there was no issue asking for an extra pillow. The breakfast was good and plentiful & good value.

I got the room without an outside window, strange especially as I did not expected that. The hostel has no kitchen/fridge/possibility to boil some water…
