Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsFlooding shower. Breakfast bag could be a bit better, if they had more options like eggs it wasn’t offered.
Really friendly staff. Thanks for setting me the breakfast even when it was almost over. I liked the room theme concept and cool concept “stay like a local”.

PolandBathroom could be better of course but I assume it's just because of an old building ;)
I felt like living in the neighbourhood and not like in an ordinary hotel and I loved it! Personel is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is great. Hotel is well equipped. And it's very easy to get to the city center by foot via its lovely surroundings. It's also funny to have a themed room :)

NetherlandsThere are no shops or places to eat nearby - bring your own, or get take-out, or eat in town first.
The hotel is located in a few houses along a street and consists of converted housing. As someone in one of the guestbooks remarked, it was like going back to university accomodation! Simple, but clean, welcoming, and safe. The area is ok (10 mins walk from local railway station). I was there Sat-Sun so there was no breakfast in the restaurant, but they prepared something in advance (asking me what I wanted) and all was ready in the fridge when I arrived. I would certainly stay there again.

Good contact, even though the location was remote. Beds were very nice, lots of space in the entire appartment.

GermanyAs we rented the rooms around New Year's Eve we had two Sundays whilst our stay which lead to getting only one of three breakfasts because the staff is not allowed working on holidays. The alternatively offered lunch bag was not a sufficient replacement since the fridge was over full keeping food of six adults and some guests. This will influence our future bookings. A second cheap fridge or, much better, a regular breakfast should be provided, even unsupported breakfast would be better.
The staff is great. Friendly and helpfull. The reception/breakfast location is pragmatic and cool. The flats differ but give you a basic impression of living in a dutch home. The Korrewijk a very special place to be on new years Eve. We were not injured and liked it overall.

Cosy room in a Dutch house with views to an internal garden and to the back street. It is set in a quiet neighborhood near food vendors and a supermarket.

NetherlandsGreat place. What isn't clear on booking.com is that this is a bit of co-op / non profit initiave. I just stayed the one night on a cycling tour. Room was basic but quirky and totally clean. Shared shower and toilet really isn't a problem.. Again all very clean with nice towels and shower gel supplied . Staff are a nice young bunch. Location perfect for the city..easy walk, but totally quiet at night. If you want fancy hotel accommodation this probably isn't for you, but if you want a safe, budget friendly stop, decent breakfast, and bit of "student living" this place is perfect.

BelgiumIt was a great place to stay with my teenage daughter while she was starting her studies at Groningen 😊. The place is nice, the room (Media) was confortable, very clean, with twin beds very comfortable. We had a bathrobe each, towels and products for the shower ; a small minus about the room (there should always be one 😊) : the mirror is quite high for small ladies 😉 but I could see my face while standing on my toes 😊. We were on the first floor with the kitchen and toilets, the shower was on the second floor. We shared with 4 other rooms. Be aware that it is a typical Dutch house with high, narrow and steep steps so don’t pack heavy and large luggage ! If you have crutches it will be quite an Adventure ! We loved it! The breakfast was served at the Reception, a few doors further in the street and was very good … fully continental, good choice. The staff was so kind to pack it twice in the fridge as we had to start our day earlier than 9 am and it was great ( big portions). You can pay to park in the street nearby (2 hours max), free after 6pm or 9 pm depending on the days and the staff recommends free of charge parking spaces in 3 streets about 10/15 mns from the room. We chose to park shortly nearby and then the whole stay at Circus park place -12€ per day, safe, underground with large parking space , 10/15 mn away by foot. No bus around (the closest is nearby Circus parking) so you have to walk quite a lot but it is totally worth it. And last but not least the Staff was really great, warm welcoming, helpful. We strongly recommend. Many thanks to those we met and those in the shadow who prepared breakfast and cleaned.
