How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The really excellent room was slightly downgraded by the bathroom.... Adding a glass showerscreen and a separate toilet would already help a lot.
Room - we got a wonderful surprise when checking in, we had been upgraded to the suite 'Steltloper' with a superb view over the beach! What a joy to have a spacious clean room with a view!

Great value! Perfect location, very nice lobby, super friendly staff. We brought our dog and they had a toy and treats for him.

Everything was nice. I may have had a bit of culture clash with one of the gentlemen at reception, but I’ll chalk it up to just that.
it was a nice beach front location with ample parking in a covered lot not too far away. my kids loved the pool. the room was comfortable. it was a nice base for a tulip weekend. dog friendly as well.

Breakfast could be better. The single room is very small. Cleaning is too late and is not possible to ask to clean earlier.
The staff at the reception was very responsive. The location was good.

The staff was very friendly, genuine. They knew answers to my questions and volunteered information about activities in the area. The location next to the sea and central location near major highways was a plus for me.

Parking is about a block away and the spaces are small so be prepared for that.
If you like a central location to the beach and stores/bars/ restaurants this place is perfect. The room was beautiful and we had a spectacular view of the ocean.

I could hear noises from other rooms, mostly the room above me.
The view is amazing! Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was great.

The family rooms were a great size, equipped with everything that we needed. There was quite a bit of noise coming from the other rooms, only we could still sleep!

Double glazing in room 127 could have been better, being on the side of the building between other, the wind off the North sea kept me awake throughout a couple of nights, the gap under the door allowed you to hear every movement outside and the light shone through all night. Parking - having to use a local car park even though a short walk away wasn't the best including the cost of it, but I guess when you are staying a beach front hotel I should have expected it. The food I felt was expensive.

During the late evening the concierge was really rude to me and a friend that came by to see me. Did not wanted to let me have my visit. Told he was calling the police. Very rude and unpleasant experience.
I really liked the location and the room was really big.

Due to Covid the restaurant closes at 17h so they make you schedule dinner for specific time and then you need to pick it up yourself at the restaurant and eat in your room. That's fine, I understand. BUT, we scheduled the dinner for the very specific time and then had to wait 45mins in the hall with lots of other people just waiting for their dinners! Very rude staff didn't even acknowledge that we were all waiting..

The noise of the toilet of the next door room is unacceptable loud, room 121. After renovation it will be beter. The nice door of the bathroom does have a lock, however you don’t have any privacy for the door is transparent .(partially blurred with milkyglass stripes). The chairs in the room were very nice looking but didn’t match in the room at all. They were uncomfortable and damaging the walls. After renovation it will be better I hope.
Slightly bigger room than we booked, due to ongoing renovations. Nice. Quiet hotel due to winter and COVID. We slept very well. Reception very nice staff, with good and friendly people. Warm welcoming hall. Bike shed in the cellar, easy to reach. Clean. Good wardrobe with mirror. Window can be opened. Central healing is adjustable.

Unfortunately the soundproofing in the rooms isn't great so you can hear the other guests at night. As a result we didn't get the best nights sleep.
The location was great. It was really nice to have a sea view. Having access to a heated pool in the hotel was a nice bonus.
