Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyCleanliness could be slightly better. Entrance/hallway smelled slightly musty. Steep staircase, no elevator. Place in front of the building not very well kept. Tissue box would have been nice.
Centrally located, room decoration initially quite appealing. Comfy bed. Little interaction with personal but front desk agent seemed friendly.

AustraliaThe clothing storage was tiny. I would take out the little table and vase. The communal area for heating food in the microwave and making coffee was great.
Location was very central. The room had everything In it that we needed. Staff were helpful.

BrazilOverpriced, but maybe it's just the rule in Rotterdam downtown. No table nor chairs in the room, but the space is enough for a couple for some days.
Good choice in downtown Rotterdam. The room is very clean. The size is compact, but acceptable. The bathroom, on the other hand, is spacious and also very clean. The shower's good. The hotel is within a walking distance from the train station if you travel light. There are restaurants, cafes and excellent bars nearby. We were able to reach many tourist spots by foot. There's a coffee machine and some biscuits for the guests all day long, for free. I'd recommend this hotel.

DenmarkNothing to dislike. The hotel and check in are apart from each other about 100 meters but that was not a problem at all.

GermanyI was in the standard king room on the ground floor which is located right opposite the small common area where you find a coffee machine and microwave. This meant that from morning until evening, but especially in the evening until about 11pm, I heard groups of people in the common area - sometimes groups of ten speaking and laughing at high volumes. The door did not prevent much noise from entering my room, so it felt like sitting right next to them. They were on holidays and behaving accordingly, and I was there for work and expecting a very quiet place. If you travel for work, this place may not be as quiet as it looks from the description. The lack of staff might mean that other guests treat the common room like a living room. If you're on an upper floor though, I expect this will not be much of an issue - though people above me were also occasionally using the excellent sound system in their room to play music that blasted through all walls.
The cleaning staff and staff at hotel Emma was very friendly. I really liked the option to have a coffee and heat up food in the microwave in the common area. The check-in was super easy and the location was very convenient.

United KingdomRoom could have had a slightly deeper clean. Superficially it was clean, but as soon as you look behind or under things you spot areas that haven't been cleaned in years.
Location was amazing and rooms and bathrooms were lovely.

GreeceThe room is rather tiny, with the room's hallway also doubling as part of the bathroom. So, you can't leave the room while someone is using the bathroom. Also the glass door provides little privacy, and definitely very little sound proofing. The room we were given wasn't exactly as the pictures, as the space shown in front of the bed was half in size (it only fit one of the chairs shown (and definitely no table) The neighborhood, even though central, is sketchy. It turns a bit into a ghetto at night, with thug-looking guys at every corner and homeless people here and there. Would definitely not recommend girls travel alone around here - me being with my girlfriend didn't even stop them from shouting comments at her. Also the Rotterdam people are far from welcoming (the reception staff was definitely an exception).
Cosy little room, very bright thanks to its big window. Everything in it is modern (including Bluetooth speakers you can use). You have to climb to get on the bed but it is big and cosy - tucked in between the walls and the big window. It is located in a central part of Rotterdam, with a tram station right outside. The reception staff (at hotel Emma, across the road, where you check-in) was very polite and friendly.

Czech RepublicSomeone should think again about the "funny" (?) inscription on the wall by the bath tub. "Nice butt!" is not what you want to read on the wall in your hotel room.
Ideal for travellers with social anxietes: you don´t have to meet anoyone. Check-in on a terminal in a nearby hotel Emma, for check-out you just drop the key card to a box on the front door. Noone is greeting you, aksing you how are you doing today, wishing a nice day. Plus perfect location!!!! The place in front of the Unplugged is apparently popular among people who don´t fit in this capitalist system. They are not too loud and when you see them in the street, they understand yr body language, no offense.

NetherlandsThe room was not very clean, there was a lot of hair on the floor and since our room was on the street side there was also noise during the night, but it wasn't as bad as expected.
Nice room with large windows and very nice staff! From the kitchen on the grond floor you could get coffee and tea and borrow kitchen utilities. Also very nice sound system for listening music and watching tv. The bathtub was amazing!
