Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MexicoI think the price of 200 euros a night is high for a hotel that doesn't include any food. It would be great to receive something in terms of food. If this is not possible, I would advise offering a discount in the restaurant for hotel guests. Or maybe some kind of special deal for guests.
The room is beautiful and spacious. We loved the fresh fruit, coffee, and tea that is provided in the room. It was spotless and towels were changed when put on the floor. It's a very private accommodation and the hotel is kind of hidden behind the restaurant. You can't really tell from in front that there is a hotel. The bed is very comfy, and therefore we slept really well.

PolandIt took me a while to find the light switches next to the bed. But the most important switches are fully accessible, so it's not a problem. I wasn't interested in whether the hotel had an elevator, I didn't see it. I only used the stairs. If you need an elevator, look for information about it.
For me, it's close to the train station (20 minutes on foot). The walk to the hotel included views of buildings and canals, so from the station I had a tour of the city. The hotel seemed small to me, which added charm and a cozy atmosphere. I felt at home there. I had a room with a balcony, so in the morning I could sit at the table with tea or coffee (included in the room price) and smoke a cigarette. There was a bar available in the room (for an additional fee). In the bathroom there were packages with wonderful hygiene products and cosmetics. With these products I really felt like I was in a 7* hotel.

BelgiumAlthough I did not try it, breakfast has to be ordered in advance, it is only served in the room and is provided the day before, which means no hot items. However, the hotel has a restaurant in the ground floor which is closed in the morning hours, so it could be used to serve a proper breakfast. To give credit where it is due, there were coffee/tea facilities in the room at no extra charge for a quick start of the day even when one chooses not to have breakfast. The stay was a bit pricey for the type of accommodation (e.g. no reception, no 24h service, no breakfast room).
Hotel was comfortable, impeccably clean, quiet and well equipped. The conversion from an old building into a hotel is remarkable. Being an old building, there is no elevator and the stairs are quite steep but the staff kindly offered to carry my luggage to the room.

New ZealandIn our opinion there were no downsides!
The location is incredible and the staff that we met were absolutely lovely. The room is great, the bed is huge and although there isn't a ton of room at the end of the day you're just using it to sleep in, and with the balcony you have more than enough space to have a nice little breakfast or coffee in the morning and even a dinner at night if you grab a takeaway pizza from across the road, for example. What we appreciated the most was the plate of fresh fruit that was provided every morning! Couldn't have picked a better hotel for our stay!

Comfy bed. Lovely fruits, teas, coffee maker. Reasonable selection of tv channels. Nice courtyard off our room which we enjoyed. Great location with gd restaurants nearby. The hotel does not have breakfast but there are breakfast options nearby. Very friendly staff. Good bike parking in ally with door to hotel. We do lock our bikes & did check regularly as neigbours also used ally. There was a door at end of ally. They were perfectly safe.

Czech RepublicKitchen is opened only when the wine-bar is opened. The menu was not really our choice, same for breakfast, but there are plenty of opportunities to choose around. Pillows were too hard but the bed was very comfortable.
This is a small place /5 rooms or so/, what we could see is that each room is different. We had room one in the upper floor /bit smaller and sunny/ and one on the ground floor /larger but bit dark/. Nice staff and family like atmosphere. Rooms are well equipped and clean. Wines were excellent. Excellent location too. Make sure you reserve parking space when booking.

CanadaThe bathroom has a sliding glass door so not much privacy, and the shower is relatively open so it makes the whole bathroom wet when you use it. Those are minor issues and overall we had a lovely stay and would certainly come back.
Very friendly and helpful staff, and a very comfortable room and bed. The bistro/wine bar is amazing! Unfortunately it happened to be closed on two of our three nights, but we're so glad we got to try it on the last night. Highly recommend staying here.

NetherlandsMy room was seemingly close to a church that began sounding the hour at 5am. Further, I had not thought of notifying when booking, that I would like breakfast around 8am. The small scale of hotel and staff, which I really like, unfortunately also meant that no in house breakfast was available on the morning I was there. In the surroundings I also did not manage to find a place open at that hour.
I found this a cute, charming and tasteful hotel. I really liked the small scale, the old and creatively transformed house and the location. Staff was very friendly and the room clean and welcoming, including fresh fruit!

Hotel is centrally situated in Utrecht's delightful museum quarter, within easy reach of trains, trams and buses. The hotel is small but beautifully and imaginatively decorated. We had a small room with balcony which was really useful as the weather was very mild. The super-king size bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was a wet room which was ideal for us. The added bonus of a Nespresso machine and milk frother and fridge plus daily fruit plate and chocolates etc made our stay most enjoyable. We bought delicious fresh croissants from the supermarket and had a DIY breakfast on the balcony as the hotel didn't serve breakfast. This worked well for us. The hotel is also next door to a wonderful Arts complex with cinemas etc and there are many restaurants and cafes within an easy stroll. We loved it!

IrelandEverything was perfect
Everything was perfect. The room was fabulous and the balcony overlooking the courtyard was lovely, especially at night when the restaurant was busy and the courtyard was lit up. The hotel is in close proximity to a church so when the church bells rang (every 15 minutes) the sound was beautiful - even during the night! We ate in the hotel restaurant on our first night and the food was divine! Would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat - fabulous location, staff were very friendly & helpful.
