Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThe hotel is located in a place where you want to relax. The room has a wonderful silence, a soft bed, amazingly soft and comfortable pillows. And there are so many interesting things about the culture and history of the Sami! A wonderful place for those who travel and want to learn something new for themselves!

FinlandI'm sensitive/hypochondriac, take your pick, to indoor air quality, and felt a bit of an unhealthy building smell. I already know most people would not notice. The overly sophisticated walk-in shower spilled water to the toilet side.
Location is great in the middle of the village, I had nice views on the fjord too. Room was clean, nice looking, warm, and the shower had warm water. I had the weekend self service breakfast from the fridge which worked fine. Did not see anyone, staff or guests, which was fine too.

FinlandUnfortunately the hotel might not be suitable for disabled people due to several stairs and steps. This hotel might not be suitable for people with severe sensitivity for scents since there are some incenses at the hall and some of the towels were washed using parfumed washing powder.
8 Seasons in Varangerbotn/Vuonnabahta is an unique experience and at the same time a very comfortable place to stay. Easy check-in with the help of electronical locks. Gas station, food-store and restaurant in the same building and another restaurant just across the street. A common kitchen with good equipment. Good breakfast served by a wonderfully friendly Saami lady. Varanger Saami museum is just a couple of hundred meters away by the Arctic Sea. The seascape is like a dream come true. At the hall there is a foto & text exhibition about a meeting of two cultures in 19th century Saamiland by a Saami artist. Loved it! I warmly recommend 8 Seasons. <3

LithuaniaI had an issue with house cleaning. Contacted the host, she was very understanding and responsive. My issue was promptly resolved.
The location is great. You have an Italian restaurant, a supermarket and a petrol station in the same parking lot - the holy grail for roadtrips. The hotel has nice facilities for work, such as a dedicated meeting room. The facilities are newly decorated. I won't spoil why it's called '8 seasons' - you will find a very nice explation inside. Rooms are equipped with Smart TVs, so you may enjoy your YouTubes and Netflixes.

United StatesLocation very convenient but we were put in a back room meaning a view of the roof of the grocery store next door as opposed to looking towards the fjord. Plus the room was smaller than advertised. Checkin was virtual which meant I could not ask for a different room. We were at first informed breakfast was in the fridge but were then informed it was in the restaurant downstairs--better, but we had already started. It also would have been good to know that the restaurant was closed the day we arrived as we had to run to the grocery store and eat in out room (no other local options that we could see).Restaurant fish option was not very good compared to other places we have eater--salmon was tough and overcooked. Stick to the Italian options.
Very clean and room was well-appointed if small. Location perfect for our trip. Restaurant owner very friendly but it was closed the day we arrived.

GermanyI arrived at the restaurant at 8 p.m. but the owner told me that they were already closing although it was written that they would close at 8.30. The only possibility to get some food was the supermarket nearby.

United KingdomInformation when booking implied kitchen was private but in fact was shared. I have experienced this once before with booking. com so may not be owner fault. Your particulars say to pay at property but this is not possible. I am expected to pay booking. com or owner by international bank transfer an expense at which I am very unhappy. Details state eating available nearby. Only gas station open.
Modern and inventively Sami themed both in the room and shared areas. Contact with staff was by phone and email but was helpful..
