How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great location - used the local bus to get into central Bergen as suggested by Ruben the owner & it was great - so easy & close. Everything was provided at the apartment & Ruben let us charge our EV which was a bonus.

I wouldn't recommend staying here more than one night or as a stop-over. Although it's well equipped and clean, I didn't like the view over the warehouses.
The location was good as we only needed to be close to the airport for an early flight. It had everything we needed.

Everything was perfect.
Hospitality of Ruben was really amazing. He contacted us to arrive smoothly, to enter home and stay comfortable. House was very well equipped and clean. Everything was available like my own house. Ruben let us to taste Norwegian chocolate and soft drink as gift and advice for food and places. It was so nice accomadition. I will prefer the same place if I come again and highly recommend :-)

The apartment was beautiful and clean. Location was perfect to airport and short distance by car also to downtown Bergen. The host was available and responsive and checkin was very easy. There was even welcome drinks and snacks and homemade waffles one evening. We had a perfect experience with our stay.

Nothing, it was one of the best apartments I've stayed in on Booking.com
The apartment looks brand new and is really well equipped. Dishwasher, washing machine, good coffee machine and a big double bed! Estela was a great host and nothing was too much trouble for her.

Our hosts Ruben and Estera are very hospitable people, their focus is on the comfort of the guest. Both of them have created a wonderful place where you can feel at home. The apartment we stayed in was clean, airy, beautifully scented, with comfortable beds, and well-equipped bathroom and kitchen. We are extremely pleased with the choice we made and without hesitation, next time we will gladly return to you.

I slept at the sofa bed, not too comfy unfortunately.
Ruben gave the extra mile waiting for us to arrive late in cold abd rain weather. The location and parking/eaay access loading/unloading luggage was great. Not many steps. Very close & convenient to Bergen airport.

Ruben is a great and sociable host. The house is great for long stays. There is everything you need - dishes, towels, etc. The house is clean and cozy, soft and comfortable double bed. There is also parking near the house. There are two supermarkets not far from the house (up to 5 minutes by car)

Neat appartement on a twenty minute bus ride to the center of Bergen. With a bus every 15-20 min. Nice freshly updated appartement with a nice host for a fair price. Recomended.

From the moment I booked the apartment, Ruben was very kind and attentive. He provided me with all the necessary information to get to the place and made sure that I was comfortable throughout my stay. He even offered me local tips on the best places to visit and eat in the city. The apartment itself was just wonderful. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. It had all the amenities one could want, from a fully stocked kitchen to a cozy and comfortable bed. The place was spacious and light with beautiful views of the city. The location of the apartment was perfect. It was in the heart of Bergen, close to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. It was very convenient to explore the city on foot. But what really made the difference was Ruben's personalized attention. He was always available to answer any questions or provide assistance. He made sure that everything was in order and that my stay was as pleasant as possible. He even surprised me with little details, like a basket of fresh fruits upon my arrival. In summary, my experience in the apartment in Bergen was absolutely fantastic, in large part thanks to Ruben's exquisite attention. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the city. Not only will they enjoy incredible accommodation, but they will also be greeted with exceptional hospitality. I can't thank Ruben enough for making my stay such a memorable experience!
