Bunkbeds aren't too good, especially the top one shakes a lot. The kitchen is decently sized but you will have to wait your turn.

They have volunteers who are hanging around, very fun people who organise some activities like pingpong or a campfire and hikes. This is a great place to meet new people and hang out with them since it is a very social vibe. Easy to go to Bergen city with a bus, takes about ~20 minutes.

Northern lights appeared when I was in my room packing my bag and although everybody was outside watching them, nobody warned the people inside. :-( They should put a special alarm or something for this: no traveller wants to miss that!!

Storage for bags in the rooms isn't as secure as in other hostels.

Whilst the hostel is a moderate distance away from the city centre, the location is incredible - you get great views over the city from most of the communal rooms and outdoor spaces, and have easy access to both the cable car and walking paths up to Ulriken. The social volunteers make a huge effort to put on social and extra-curricular activities (hikes, bonfires, karaoke) so that everyone staying at the hostel gets a chance to socialise. The full-time staff are friendly, helpful, and well-informed. The communal facilities aren't brand new, but are perfectly functional. I stayed in the newer part of the building and had a good room with a clean bathroom.

A bit away from city center but there are busses going and if you like walking or have car, it is not big deal yet better since the parking is free.

The rooms and bathroom were very clean, beds super comfort for a hostel and not noisy unlike most of the hostels I had stayed earlier. The room had a nice view toward the city from the hillside. Free parking, which is not common in Norway. You are few minutes from the Ulriken attraction.

Only the bathroom shower did not have a ledge to separate the shower space from the rest of the room. Also the curtains would stick into my body due to the pressure caused by the hot water. A shower door would have made a great difference. But for the price it's OK.

Best experience I've gotten in a hostel in Norway. It was so good! I especially enjoyed the free breakfast, the karaoke night and the fact that the staff invited us to join them to a party in the city center. They were beyond friendly in a sincere way, I really enjoyed my stay and made new friends :)

There was no hot water from one of the showers at the men shower toom, so I had to change the shower to another one, where the hot water was.

Polite and helpful staff. All my quesions and all my inquiries were solved quickly. I was allowed to store my backpack prior to check-in. There were nice views of the city from Sollien Street outside of the hostel.

Location - on top of the mountain close to starting your hikes. Clean rooms, good breakfast, friendly & competent (permanent-) staff, kitchen, gym, near to supermarket and bus station. Separate heating in room was awesome during -15°C weather! Would recommend…

You have to take bedsheets off yourself and put them in laundry bins. This means that anyone that needs to leave and check out early for flights etc has to disturb everyone else in the room taking off bedsheets. I was here for four nights, every single night was woken up at 5am by someone stripping their bed. Beds could do with a curtain for privacy.

Spotlessly clean, and comes with a breakfast. It's a bit further out from the city, but there's a bus stop nearby, the bus is regular and only 20 mins. The hostel is right by the start point to walk up Mount Ulriken. Free coffee and cookies every day that anyone can take part in.

I planned and booked my stay early but was a little upset that the price dropped a bit later. Check out time was a little early.

Breakfast was good and the stay was quite comfortable, the view outside the room was very nice.

The internet connection in the rooms isn't good.

The breakfast is amazing. It is a nice place to meet people who travel alone. In the kitchen area they have everything you need(pots, plates, glasses, etc.)

It's not in the city center, but that is why you get a nice view over the city!

The employees were very friendly and helpful and could all speak English. Everything was very clean. The location is top when you are a hiking lover (Ulriken). The volunteers providing a free program was wonderful to connect.

It was very important for us that breakfast starts at 7.00 since we need to go out at 7.45. I asked about it before ordering a room. Both days it was delayed at half of hours and it was really poor.
