Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaNot really something we didn’t like but more of a watch-out: While the charm of the hotel is in it’s isolation, it also means there are no stores or restaurants nearby. So either plan to eat dinner there or bring food with you before you arrive.
Beautiful hotel in the mountains. The room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable, with a beautiful view of the mountains and the valley below. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were tired in the evening so did not have dinner at the hotel. But breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. This is a great place to relax and take a breather during an active vacation.

United KingdomOnly the frequent practice in Norway that a double room is actually two single mattresses... even in a double frame!
Ole has taken on the running of his family hotel. He and his team genuinely care about their guests, many of whom become friends. The shared supper in the Viking Barn was great bit of theatre and great fun. Highly recommended

JerseyThe turning from the road to the hotel caught me off-guard, it looks like a little gravel track heading into the woods so I went past the first time thinking it couldn't be right, however that little gravel track leads to a hidden gem of a hotel. Make the turn and enjoy!
A hidden gem of a hotel, tucked away in a peaceful location. The staff are absolutely outstanding and the dinner was brilliant. Breakfast was a well stocked continental buffet with hot fresh eggs and bacon available. The bedroom was immaculate and well presented with a comfortable bed and bedding. Highly recommended!

NorwayVery good hotel with a nice view of the valley below. Had an excellent breakfast with products from local suppliers. Enjoyed the hot tub with local drink and a fantastic sunset due to the sun giving reflections over the clouds in the valley below. The hotel lies a distance away from anything else. Excellent if you enjoy an relaxed and quiet atmosphere not so good if you do not like this.

United KingdomAs the hotel has only just re-opened for the summer season, there were only two rooms booked (including ours) and thus the restaurant was closed and the breakfast wasn't offered as a buffet, but rather a pre-prepared selection of dishes on our table, not all of which we would have chosen. Bathroom was functional, but perhaps not to the standard we might have expected for a four star hotel - odd, considering that the rest of the room was very nicely appointed.
Room had a lovely view and was very quiet. Hotel manager was very helpful and friendly. Bed very comfortable and we slept very well. Table and sofa in the room were comfortable and well positioned.

SwedenWe liked the wooden building/architecture of the hotel. The dinner - a bit pricy - was excellent with selected wine package to match up perfectly with the three courses. Large and comfortable room with free coffee - great! We went on 3-4 hour hike to Brekkevatnet - highly recommended- beautiful scenery up at the small lake. Bring your swimsuits for a refreshing swim after the uphill hike. Spent some time in the outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the mountains. You may have to ask for yogurt/oatmeal porridge for breakfast if you want to charge for a full day of activities. Uploaded photo from our hike.

GermanyThe hotel is amazing with a great host. Ole (the owner) takes care of everything and overdelivers on every occasion. The hotel is ideal for exploring Trollstigen or Geiranger Fjords. I can not praise the hotel and staff enough. Would so recommend this hotel.
