Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAlthough the neighborhood is generally quieter than many other parts of Oslo, there were some times when we could hear late-nite goings on coming from outside. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker. Would definitely stay again!
Really cool boutique hotel in a historic building. Great location in the heart of Oslo, but just far removed enough from the hustle and bustle of the city center. SUPER comfy bed in a unique yet stately room. Staff/service was tip top, in a pleasantly old fashioned way :) Also nice restaurant/bar next door (I think they are affiliated with the hotel?) with a great wine list.

PolandStaying in this tiny hotel was an amazing experience. First of all, excellent service by both staff members, especially the Portuguese guy. We were welcomed early in the morning and could leave our luggage in the hotel. When we came later we were directed to the largest room in the house, on the first floor. The house is an architectural monument. You feel like you moved some 100 years back in time, but all the amenities were modern (bathroom). There was lots of space and a bathroom with both shower and a tub, with a heated floor. All was clean and decorated in antique style. In the morning we had a choice of freshly cooked breakfast, in the house next to the hotel. Staff gave us also very valuable hints regarding city sightseeing. At the night it was really quiet, despite the very central location of the hotel. The beds were comfortable so we had a good sleep. The tram stop was just some 300 m away. On the last day, we could stay in the room much longer as there were no new guests. Overall at least 4* experience with much better service (personal attention) than you get in any 5* hotel.

United StatesNothing could have been better. It was perfect!
This hotel was the highlight of our trip. What a special place! The staff was amazing! So helpful and worked hard to make sure our stay was perfect. The hotel itself is a perfectly renovated historic house in a central location. We stayed here twice on our trip in two different rooms. Both amazing. As a former interior designer could not get over the decor. Breakfast was wonderful. Look forward to staying again in the future.

IndiaThe room was huge and so was the bathroom! Quaint, classical and designed in the old style with all modern, functional facilities. A special shout out for Park 29, their restaurant …. the food is a gastronomical delight! I would especially recommend the deconstructed blueberry cheesecake, it was the best tasting thing I’ve ever eaten; my husband who does not like cheese cake 😶…. fell in love with it too! The breakfast is specially made to order and is superb; the chef will tweak it to your liking and choices and that’s over and beyond what you’ll get anywhere in Norway. Absolutely delighted by my stay at this property, staff is super friendly and helpful, location is in walking distance from the market area. If you happen to land there on a Saturday don’t miss the morning market which is all over the streets once you enter the Centrum and everything is half off….. loved the property, loved the staff, loved the food…. would def highly, highly recommend this place!!!

NorwayBuilding is old, and with that, not sound proof. You can hear other guests if the walk around/slam doors etc, and abit of tram/people from the streets. Did not bother us, though :)

United StatesWe were upgraded to a very spacious room with sitting area, a wardrobe and large bath with tub. Breakfast was sit down, very fresh individually prepared to order, and cooked to perfection... only the best! We had a bit of an early departure, and Mario had breakfast planned for us at 0730... Thanks Mario! Location was perfect, in a more residential area sandwiched between Frogner park, and just across the street from Kings palace and lovely shaded park. This was an extremely well kept historic home and the level of service was exceptional.

United StatesNothing. This is my favorite hotel in the whole world.
This is the type of hotel you dream about, but never find in reality. Everything is absolute perfection, from the beautifully decorated room, to the expansive bathroom, the delightful antiques, the charming house... and it's tucked away in a quiet little private courtyard in Oslo. This is luxury at its finest, without the pretension. This is not, however, a huge 5 star hotel with bells and whistles: there is no room service, and no 24 hour concierge, and there are very few rooms. This is a high end B&B, you have your own key to the house to come and go as you like. The toiletries are generous and divine. And the staff goes above and beyond, Mario, the manager is perfection itself.

SwitzerlandThe room was fairly dark, which might be historically accurate, but could be compensated for with better lamps; the current lighting is weak and has a flicker. The scarcity of electric sockets and complete absence of USB outlets could also be improved quite easily; recharging personal devices such as computers, phones, etc., is currently a bit of a challenge. Windows are thin, and at least one had a hole in it. Yet, these small gaps to modern civilization may contribute to the charm of the place.
The property is delightful and full of historic character. It transports you back to a different time. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast (which is made to order using excellent ingredients) is delicious, albeit within a well-defined small choice set.
