How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Location is super central so, obviously, street noise at night. WiFi only ok. Entry by pin number - another pin you gotta remember or mess around your inbox to find. Key cards would be personal preference. No staff around so couldn't ask if could leave luggage or not on day of check out.
Location. Amazing value for Norway. Large rooms. Fridge provided. TV with international channels. Vendin machines available with drinks and sugary snacks. Good lighting options near bed. Sufficient plug sockets.

Cleanless. Easy check-in. Helpful staff ( from their other hotel, that has reception). If you need extra equipment (iron, towels, bulbs etc) everything is available for guests in the storage room ( there's an instruction about that in the hotel)

The mattress was rather soft and kept slipping off the base. There was no shampoo. There was no hairdryer so I phoned up the service number, who sent a member of the cleaning staff along with one in a couple of minutes. The room was very hot but the guy on the check-in turned that off for me, since I didn't know how to use the heating.
Fast, uncomplicated check-in. Clean room. Location in the centre of town, easy to reach. No need to check out, just hang a sign on your door.

Everything is good accept the kettle is dirty inside, might haved from previous guest that never been clean. So I decided to never use it and bought a coffee from outside.
Close to everywhere, convinience location in the heart of the Trondheim city.

The itchy bed thus we need to use extra towels to put over the bedding, moreover we’re only provided 2 pillows for 3 occupants of the room. We need to open the window because the room was so warm despite lowering down the temperature.
Its close to the city and from the train station.

room was cleaned only after first night in a 5-night stay. This is not enough and should only happen of the gues explicitly wishes no cleaning. Once every 2-3 nights should be standard.
no frills - just good value for money. Easy and well-working code for doors, and large, comfortable rooms with reasonable TV program

There is a nightclub next door and I had my window towards it. had an impact on my possibility to sleep. Also it would be nice to have a means to see from the inside if the door was locked or not. Now it was not possible, felt a bit insecure.

The hotel is located on top of a bar which plays pretty loud music on the weekends.
Very central location and large, comfortable room. Easy check in process. Luggage storage facilities are not available at this hotel but you can leave luggage at their partner hotel just a 5 minute walk away.

The smoke smell in the aisle was annoying. There was no everyday-cleaning routine and you need to change the towels by yourself (self-service).
The room was spacious. All utilities were available in the room. Check in was contact-less and smooth. Good quality for the value.

There were no staff. There was a smell of smoke in the corridor. No bar nothing to eat. They left one sugar with the coffee sachets. Some of the sockets did not work

Very noisy from the street and loud music from a disco Stay there for 3 night see no cleaner and no clean towel nothing i get in the alley a towel from the container everyday Outside it was snowing and a lot off dirt comes in my room but what i said no cleaner .....

Lots of noise from the club downstairs. Could hear the bass until late in the night. Made sleeping difficult

Getting the code to entre. I always have to ring the reception at the other hotel. Never sent on time but still good place to stay.

Just bad timing but there were noisy student festivities happening that night so having the window open (it was also a hot night) meant it wasn't very restful.
Location was great, central to the tourist highlights. I really liked Trondheim itself. Check in was remote but not a problem.
