Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaDon’t forget to book your diner once you get on the boat to be sure to eat where you want. We didn’t know we had to book a table and had to wait a long time.
Prices onboard were a lot more affordable than we expected. Staff is super friendly and everything is clean.

United StatesIt was like a full cruise, not a ferry. multiple bars and restaurants. Room was below the cars and tiny, but it was expected and honestly we slept great. Hit the duty free for cheap alcohol and drink on the top deck.

It's a very nice experience on the ship, especially the jacuzzi and outdoor pools. We were lucky that it was sunny outside, so we used it to swim. Everything is great.

PolandI was a little disappointed when we got to the room and the beds weren’t made and it looked like it hadn’t been prepped for guests, but other than that it was great. I also wish there was a schedule of events for bingo/music/trivia etc that was more available.
I love this mini cruise trip. I love the activities and different things to do on the ship

United KingdomThe cabin beds were so comfy, and the sheets felt super clean and fresh. In fact, the mattress and bedding were more comfortable than some hotels I've stayed in over the years! The ensuite bathroom was clean and functional - plenty of places to hang towels and a shelf to store toiletries. The shower was hot and had excellent water pressure. It's not specified in the room description, but the bathroom did have a hairdryer too. The cabin itself was clean and absolutely perfect for a one night stay. In the evening there was a music quiz and bingo - both free to enter and a really fun way to pass a couple of hours! Would definitely recommend :) The ferry terminal in Oslo is just a 10 minute walk from the city centre, which is very convenient. All the DFDS staff were very helpful. I'd also highly recommend the coffee from Coffee Crew - a large latte cost just over £5.50 which didn't seem too bad considering. The coffee tasted great!

LatviaThe prices were a little bit high in the ferry. And the rooms aren't big enough for 4 people. It's even smaller for just 2 person. If there is no window, there is no point in booking this ferry. Everything becomes good with the window view.
Everything.

United KingdomNothing.
The sailing was amazing, gorgeous views. We chose 3 of the economy cabins for our group of 3 couples, we knew when we booked there could be some noise. The cabins were under the car decks which once the cars had all boarded was no problem. It was a quiet crossing, the days either side were holidays and very busy so we picked a good day! The only noise in the cabins was from the engine which you could hear a quiet droning but it didn’t cause any problem when sleeping. This was the only time really we were in the cabin as the facilities on the ship were fab. The duty free shop was amazing, loads of bargains for be had, clothes, fragrances, cosmetics, shoes, handbags, just a shame we didn’t have the weight allowance on our hold suitcase.

PhilippinesThis was the best way to go from Oslo to Copenhagen. For a price that similar to an overnight stay in a hotel in Scandinavia, we could also travel from one country to another and sleep comfortably in a bed. This was better than taking a train or flying. The ferry was like a mini-cruise. Aside from the views of Oslofjord and Copenhagen harbor, there was duty-free shopping, variety of dining options, and even outdoor jacuzzies for those brave enough to take a dip despite the cold weather. We ventured out to see both a spectacular sunset and a dreamy sunrise. Getting to and off the ferry was easy as well. Breakfast buffet spread was also delicious.

United KingdomGenerally all good. Although on the return I was under impression we’ll arrive to Oslo at 9am-ish, and booked a city tour which we were late for as we arrived past 10am & also had a long queue to check out/go through the customs in Oslo (unlike in Copenhagen). Some of the salad/fruit in Seven Seas restaurant were not fresh.
Excellent idea for a trip between Oslo & Copenhagen: hotel, transport & entertainment combined all in one (and on very cheap of you go just for their cheaper /standard cabins). You can go back the same route, by ferry (you have to take all your bags from the ferry although there are lockers right in the terminal building by the check-ins, just need coins for that), spending about 4 hours in the city in between, from around 10am to 2.30pm (we booked a 1.5 hours walking tour & had time left to browse the streets on our own & have lunch) On a ferry there is good choice of restaurants & cafe, a duty free shop & a night club with quiz/music/performance programme, themed each day. We did not use jacuzzi/sauna but you could, and they were not busy. All restaurants & cafes & their food are good. At Seven Seas restaurant you pay 280 DKK pp & have unlimited buffet, with massive choice. The fresh fish & shellfish were great, as well as meat dishes, bread section & desserts & lots of other meals. Italian restaurant was good too, serves very big portions. Coffee /breakfast cafe was great, excellent coffee & fresh bakery. We booked a return journey, in a standard cabin with window & back without a window, and the one without turned out to be a better layout, with TV & bigger bathroom, and twice cheaper.
