Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkI have booked a superior room and the room was very small. From the safety plan on the door it was possible to infer that all the rooms are small.
The hotel is brand new, well decorated and very clean.

NorwayOf course it's sentrum so it's not easy with parking. But if having a car it can be an extra cost. We couldn't make it colder in the room, and sleeping (or trying to sleep) with open windows was loud. But we had no choice.
It is a nicely renovated place. Automatic check in and out was easy. Room comfortable.

IrelandNo staff = no one to ask for help if needed. Also, with all the access codes- I didn’t feel safe as anyone smart enough can enter the building. Had No spoons, so was difficult with food and drinks
Good spot and easy access to restaurants. Parking in front of the location- at the shopping center or just 100m at the large public car parking Elegant

Egyptthere is no staff, no reception. its a self-service, even if we wanted to ask questions at least there should be a phone in the room that goes directly to reception. like if we needed extra towels or something. didn't like the idea that there was not a single staff. they needed to add for example spoons for tea or coffee in the room, if we needed we had no way of contacting reception, they left a telephone number but you had to call on your personal phone. also, the wifi instructions in our room were not correct. again if I wanted to call reception, i would have to call on my personal phone. lastly, the instructions for check-in need to be clearer seeing that no one is there to help you. you receive a day before a code in messages from the hotel but they don't clearly tell you ''this is the code you need to enter at check-in''
amazing location, interior very clean and fashionable. rooms are very modern yet stylish. very clean and comfortable, and great location. in front of shops and coffee shops and the main bus stop to and from airport. i would stay there again if there was reception :)

GreeceThe first night of my stay, the temperature of the room was very low (probably it hadn't been used for a couple days or more) - there is not an air condition to use, just central heating individually operated, that was OK after the second day. However, a separate electrical heating device was also provided the next day to ensure appropriate heating. It is really hard to communicate with Hotel personnel, as there is not a Reception clerk dedicated at the facility. And if you don't owe a local phone number, you can communicate only through e-mails. There is not any Viber or Whatsapp number available - only a local landline number. The rooms of the Villa are a little bit expensive, for what they offer (just Bed - not breakfast) and also there is NOT a cuisine, neither a microwave or a small oven.
The location was excellent. The matress of the double bed was really top. The room was very spacious.

United KingdomI missed a bit of human interaction. There was practically nowhere to store anything. Although there was a kettle and a coffee machine, the fact that there were no staff meant that once I had exhausted my supply of tea/coffee, there was no way of obtaining more.
Great location. Comfortable bed. Automated check in worked fine although I had to wait some time before I was buzzed in.

GermanyIt is with open windows ( 4th floor) during the night very noisy. Of course we could have checked that out beforehand. To us from a far distance it looked like a small street, but in reality it has heavy traffic ( busses , busses, busses) . One can use air conditioning….
Central location!!!! Interior is what the pictures promise . Nice extras like wine glasses. And quite fancy lights , which was a design highlight for us altogether during our trip. Newly opened

United KingdomThe exterior of the hotel is pleasant to look at - as one would expect for a revamped listed building. The intrinsic flaw in this hotel is that it is so damn IMPERSONAL. Gen Z people might find this impersonality appealing. We didn’t . Check-in and check-out is by means of a slot in the wall. Apart from the odd glimpse of a chambermaid, there is zero human interaction. There was a note on the wall re. another address at which one can actually meet a member of staff of some sort, although I seem to recall that the window for doing so was pretty small. There is no dining room - the hotel is a mere annexe. Fortunately, just up the road was the local Thon hotel where, even as a non- resident, one can enjoy an excellent breakfast. When we come back to Stavanger we shall simply ‘cut out the middle man’ and stay at the Thon, instead of the robotic Frogner. I opted to book at this hotel on the strength of some pretty glowing reviews which - having stayed there - I feel are not justified. All this would have been perfectly bearable ( if not ideal ) had it not been for the appalling shower in our particular room (I think it was 413). The tiling of the shower floor sloped downhill, instead of forming a concavity. Result: every time one took a shower - no matter how carefully - the floor was inundated and one had to mop it up with a bath mat (no mop provided…) and wring it out God knows how many times into the loo. This was annoying, time-consuming and frankly unhygienic. The bathroom was not designed as a wet room : it looked like a proper luxury shower. Does this room find its way regularly on to price-saving websites because of its hopeless shower, I wonder..?
The room was quite adequate - even pleasant - for a mid-price comfortable hotel…with one glaring exception - the flooding shower. It was a case of more style than substance e.g. a rack of upside-down wine glasses, a hard-to-operate espresso machine and a pathetically limited array of teabags - 2 rosehip tea bags - who the hell drinks rosehip tisane on a daily basis ?! The balcony was pleasant enough - a view over the rooftops with some distant glimpses of church spires.

NetherlandsWifi didn't work properly, streaming didn't work due to this. And there is nothing else to do in the hotel. Checking in was a challenge, I choose pay at hotel, thát didn't work. Reception wasn't available. If I had known this up front, I would have chosen another hotel to stay at.
Location is fine. If you don't expect anything, just a bed, this is the place to stay.

NorwayI stayed 2 nights and they didn’t clean my room at all? No clean towels and they didn’t make my bed. Also the elevator stopped working when I was checking out. I had a huge suitcase and needed help to carry it down. They helped me tho! So that’s good. Also, not really hot water in the shower the first night. It would just heat up to like mid hot..

United KingdomThe property is in a fantastic location, right in the city centre and just a 2 minute walk from the bus and train station. Check-in was very easy and hassle free. The room itself was beautiful, modern, and very stylish. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the WiFi was fast. All in all, it was worth every penny and would be the only place I would consider staying again if I were to return to Stavanger.
