We stayed in the standard room, and it was definitely satisfactory but a bit limited. There was a nice porch area and a small kitchen that we used for making dinner one night. The bed was not exceptionally comfortable, just okay. There wasn’t much room to just relax, but perfect enough for a place to crash at the end of a long day exploring the fjords.

Nice location to sleep in if you want to visit a part of Sognefjord. The room was big and we had also our private terrace and parking area. There are two resturants nearby, a shop, the viking village and the point of departure of the cruise on the fjord.

The skylight hasn't any means to be covered. Not necessary, only the street lantern of the bridge shines right down in the room and stays on all night ... Remember that there are many tourists walking by the rooms and taking pictures of the building. Since the building has glass doors, remember to close the curtains before exiting the shower!

Room was pretty nice, spacious and the skylight has an exceptional view of the surrounding mountains. Restaurant was suprisingly good!

Had to go off site for dinner - but it was an off peak time of year. The food in the attraction diner was simple but really tasty.

Breakfast spread was great. Breakfast view was amazing - up the fjord. Staff were really friendly - put the fire on especially for us.

Beds were hard. Shower wanted to stick to your body while showering. All lights were controlled by one switch. No full length mirror.

One could lay in bed and see the stars and the waterfalls. Right next to the Viking Village. Beautiful location. The dining room.

The location is quite good - very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast and the staff were great. The Viking Village experience was very engaging. Recommended.

The bus schedule can be a bit confusing, and the workers seem like not so sure about it. The breakfast was too little for us ..

Nice warm house set up at the snow. A 5mins walk from reception. You got everything you need just like a house. There's a grocery store 5mins walk

I have been here multiple times and I must say some of the rooms are beginning to show their age, this can add to the rustic charm but it is also a warning, i believe that in the near future parts of the Viking room may need renovating. For now it's not a problem and hopefully it never will be.

There is something special about waking up and looking up at the mountains, nature is simply stunning in this area. I was there in the offseason when the Viking attractions were not active, just walking around and taking in the view lets the mind and body relax. In the evening when the sun has set, sitting by the bar and relaxing by the fire with a good book is the perfect way to end the day.

I think I had unrealistic expectations of the Viking room being reminiscent of something from a boutique themed hotel so I was a little underwhelmed but realistically it was exactly how it was portrayed in the images :)

Room was exactly as portrayed in the images! Bed was very very comfortable, breakfast was brilliant, the staff were friendly and the views were nothing less than spectacular. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting gudvangen :)

Distance from reception across car park to room. No handrail on decking steps to door of cabin/room. No blind or curtain on frosted window on front door which let in the light from outside at night, and we felt a bit exposed. Only one pillow on each bed. Inaccessible electric sockets in room. On checking, the receptionist was not very welcoming.

I think it's overpriced. The room is okay, but very basic. There's no hanging rack for clothes. Electrical sockets are placed inconveniently and there are not many of them. Bathroom is far from comfortable: almost no place to put your toiletries, only a couple of towel hooks, shower is separated only by a curtain, so water is getting from under it over the whole bathroom floor.

Beautiful location near mountains and fiord. Room is spacious, rather comfortable. Breakfast is quite good, it's served in the hotel's restaurant with great views.

From the reception of the hotel to our room, we had to walk 2 minuts, by a road without any pedestrian walkway. It is not nice to walk with 2 small childrens and luggage in the middle of a road, even if the walking distance is only 3/4 minuts.
