We enjoyed our stay a lot! Hotel located in a distant area, next to the historical road. The location is ideal for those who want to enjoy nature and quietness. The hotel, which was built in the 19th century (wow!), is absolutely charming both inside and outside. A special thanks I want to say to the family who runs the hotel. They did a really great job of making all the visitors feel comfortable. The family owners invest so much love and attention to detail in this place, you can feel it. Everything is perfectly clean and beautiful. In addition, perfect sleep with the sounds of a waterfall as a bonus.

Nothing - perfect stay.

Arrived very late in the evening after only booking an hour or so beforehand. I'd already missed dinner but the very helpful staff made me a sandwich and had beer available so all was good. Room was spotless, bed was comfy. Breakfast was delicious. I wish it was not such a fleeting visit!

It was a little more expensive than I expected (a lot of add ons for “additional beds” which just means turning the couch into a bed and a baby crib).

Really cool place to stay. Unique and private. Family room had plenty of space. The food is amazing!

The bedding was surprisingly disappointing given everything else was close to perfection: too soft mattress constantly bottoming out, very uncomfortable center because the bed is made of 2 single mattresses (the soft mattress topper didn't help in that regard).

The food at the dinner was sublime, the service throughout excellent as well. The breakfast buffet, although small in size (understandable given the number of guests that day) was of very high quality. The hotel is beautiful (check out the 2 balconies). Nice hiking options nearby (Vindhellavegen and Borgund New Church). Good shower. Very quiet area (apart from the river of course). Great blackout curtains and blinds.

Lovely hotel and very nice staff. Everything spotless and new. Beautiful room and amazing hot shower. Soft bed (pro or con depending on your preference). Delicious dinner and breakfast; all felt very local, fresh, and homey. After multiple days kayaking, this was _exactly_ what we needed.

Everything was absolutely amazing!

This was our favorite place we stayed at while traveling through Norway. The hotel was incredibly quaint and unique. The breakfast was excellent, various choices, and great quality. The common areas were beautiful and very comfortable, they are a great place to rest and get drinks. The decoration of the whole place was very welcoming. The staff is lovely and do everything they can to make you feel at home. The town itself is small and barely even a town, but there are great hikes and waterfalls close by. It is a great stopping point to relax after driving through the country. Everything is exceptionally clean which is the main thing I look for when booking a place. This is a hidden gem for sure and I’m so glad we found it!
