Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe nearby distillery could be open more than twice per week for a coffee, croissants and a drink.
Everything was there. The location is spectacular. Cool designed cabins.

United StatesI know it is hard to maintain the ice in the winter but clearing a better path to the doors or more gravel would have been appreciated. My advice if you go in winter is make sure you have crampons because there is ice everywhere. Three out of the four of us had them and it saved us from serious injury. The WiFi did not work at all throughout our stay but we had Norwegian SIM cards with data so it wasn’t a huge issue for us. But if that’s important to you just know you may not have any access. They do warn you it may have issues but I would just expect to have none if I was to return. Communication was not great. They do send you multiple messages to inform you of policies and such but when I asked a question I received no response.
The view is phenomenal, you can’t beat it. The cabins are sufficient for 2 people. They supplied everything you would need to prepare your own meals. I don’t mean groceries, those you buy yourself but all the utensils. The cabins were well heated and clean. Plenty of parking. The distillery on the property is really cool. If there are no clouds or minimal clouds and the aurora is active you will get phenomenal images here. The road to the cabins is a little narrow but well plowed.

SwitzerlandWhen the Northern Lights appeared it was a pitty that the lights in the Distillery were still on as well as the very bright light at the shed (working shed) opposite the cabin carpark.
Very nice and modern. Secluded location along the Fjord. Very friendly and accommodating host. They made our tour at the distillery very special for my partner’s birthday.

IndiaThe wifi was bit of a struggle (almost non-existent). Room heating could have been a bit better. Bed was uncomfortable.
One of the best properties I have ever stayed. The cabins are overlooking the fjords and offers uninterrupted views. On clear days it can be spectacular. Kitchenette was well equipped with burner, oven, chimney & kettle. A perfect getaway in the tranquility of nature.

United KingdomThe tea light candles ran out within an hour of lighting and we couldn’t get anymore for the rest of the stay which was a shame but otherwise it was perfect!
The location and views were incredible. We watched the Aurora from the living room in the evening, and the sunrise & birds in the morning. It was the most peaceful place and I would definitely recommend a visit.

GreeceA small detail, the air extractor of the kitchen is blowing the air again in the area after passing a filter and the smell while using it wasn't so nice, but in general it was a great accommodation that I would repeat.
The view from the Cabins was amazing. Very cozy place. Easy check in. We were so lucky to have an amazing night with a lot of Aurora activity. We stayed in the sofa watching the beautiful sky dancing.

SingaporeWhiskey distillery opens only a few days a week. We didn’t manage to visit despite staying 2 nights. Cabin could be warmer.
Perfect spot to view the northern lights. Smoothing sound of the waves can be heard at all times. Good amenities in the kitchen. Prepare food to cook. Didn’t meet any staff as it’s self contained.

United KingdomI sent a message about the distillery tours shortly after the booking was confirmed but no one ever replied to this, and we didn't end up going on a tour. The cabin was missing a sharp knife for food prep when we got there, but luckily the staff were more responsive to messages after we arrived and one appeared the following day. Although we loved the enormous window overlooking the fjord, the sun streaming in can make the small property very hot very quickly and we would have appreciated some thicker curtains to at least partly provide some shade, and I think guests staying in the summer would appreciate them even more.
The cabin was as compact as we expected, however it was roomy enough for us and we fit both of our suitcases in the living space easily. The kitchenette was small but sufficient for cooking for two, and although the bedroom was again tight on space the bed was very comfortable. Having the huge window overlooking the fjord made up for the size of the cabin, as it just made the lodge feel so much bigger and as if you're part the nature going on outside. The view over the fjord was just magical, and I loved looking out over it. There was constantly something going on - a fish leaping out, seabirds looking for a meal, a small pod of harbour porpoises slipping quietly past, a group of grebes appearing like clockwork each day to dive into the crystal clear water just under the cabin, V-formations of geese in the distance, a double rainbow arcing down the mountain opposite and terminating in the water. We were lucky enough to see the aurora borealis every night we stayed there, and again the huge window was perfect for appreciating the light show in the warmth.

The cabin was cozy, beautifully furnished , with lovely kitchenette for simple cooking. The small cabin is well equipped with fridge , oven and microwave. The sofa was so comfortable we fell asleep on the sofa one of the nights. The view was incredible . We love the heated bathroom floor and the bathroom is warm and nice for a good hot shower. Sarah is extremely helpful . While we were there even though the weather was rainy , we were happy to stay in the cabin looking out at the fjord and the mountains . We stayed for 3 nights and wish we could stay even longer .
