Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayDidn't like the fact that I had booked with free parking and I arrived it was payable parking. Hotell management didn't care enough to send a message about this. Didn't care enough either to correct the situatiom, luckly they have professional staff that cares about the place. Adding my opinion on the case that giving parking space to 3rd party is like giving your land to others to explore. Would rather accept it better if the hotel itself manage that part too. Then I could understand but like it was done is just a way of stealing. Even more when we pay for a open park without any special security and is very dark too. That is the big minus that it wasn't a thing before. Rooms could make use of some love and please modernize the locks, nobody wants to carry a physical key even if you want to hold the rustic aspect. You can for sure find a solution that fits well.
Staff is nice and helpful. Simple, not much choice but nice breakfast, good bread and flavours :) Location is very pleasant and peaceful.

SwitzerlandZero points for the lack of hospitality and support at the reception. After arriving at 18:30, the restaurant was unfortunately fully booked. Despite asking, the hotel was not willing to prepare a sandwich for our son. The hotel is located outside Oslo. Despite a friendly enquiry after 1.5 hours, the interest for the guest was still negative. Our advise: take food with you just in case…
Nice location outside of Oslo.

South AfricaWe were in a new section of the hotel where they are redoing the rooms after a water disaster so it was a bit soulless, no pictures on the walls, nowhere to hang our clothes as the rail or hooks were not yet installed, no rug on the floor. I realise now that Norwegian hotels don’t do more than one pillow per bed, in this case they were also not particularly generous in size. Very compact bathroom with nice fittings, water from the shower inevitably came onto the floor, spring door into the bedroom so we wedged it open to release steam from the shower.
A wooden hotel situated in a classic Norwegian farm style setting surrounded by trees at the edge of the Nordmarka area north of Oslo. Peaceful and atmospheric, fun sculptures dotted around the landscape. Interesting paintings inside the public rooms, a dining room with glass windows looking through the trees, birds eye view! Smallish dinner menu, the venison was delicious. Generous tasty buffet breakfast. Staff very pleasant.

NetherlandsWe got a room overlooking the delivery platform which spoiled our view. Also we did not like a room with two times two steps which caused us to put barricades to remind us during the night. The soap containers in the shower did not work and were almost empty. All that at a time when the hotel was far from full and we could easily have been given a nicer room. With few guests, it is clear the hotel addresses its attention to business meetings, cocktail parties and weddings.
Location great, leaving the car and taking the tram into Oslo great, dinner excellent, front desk staff very helpful

Netherlandsthe wifi didn’t work at all in part of the building. Other guests had the same problem. Also the room can be noisy. We literally heard every word of our neighbor’s through the vent from the bathroom. So that was a bit of a disappointment.
the breakfast was very good.

United KingdomCold rooms, lack of choice in breakfast buffet.
It’s clearly a heritage hotel type but so old fashioned & the room was supercold when I arrived at 9 pm. The radiator was hidden behind the curtains & to contact reception one has to email or ring a Norweigan Number. There is no phone in the room to do so so one has to use own phone & I didn’t have a norway number so couldn’t co tact them. Breakfast buffet is so so (amazing views though) as not much choice for vegetarians & no lactosw free milk. I would rate it a 3 star.
