Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The rooms were very hip and tastefully furnished. Location was good.

NorwayDidnt like that elevator was not in service so needed use stairs to the 6th floor. Bathroom window blinds were damaged and destroyed, was not possible to close it. No sponges to clean the kitchen, no any other tissues for cleaning. I didnt found how called tv for chromecast (so found out myself, it was named bod).
Was nice jacuzzi and view through the window, good location.

United KingdomNo staff, and it’s at the top of a shopping mall, so it’s a bit eerie to be walking down a large hallway (in black and pink tones) alone at night when you go to your room… I did not like that at all. No shower door (so it’s like a swimming pool when you shower).

United StatesI didn’t use the digital entry, as I didn’t have my phone turned on for international use. That would have been interesting. The option of going to the sister hotel for access worked well, and I could store my luggage there until check-in time, which was excellent.
It was odd not having staff, though the staff at the sister hotel were excellent and helpful. Figuring out the lights was tricky for me. I couldn’t get the tv to turn on. A bit of tea or coffee to go with the kettle would have been nice. Bed was quite comfortable, and the cool temperature of the room was good for sleeping.

AustraliaThere was an odd smell in the hallway. No hair-dryer in room. Digital key didn't open the outside door after hours. No luggage storage at hotel after checkout (the other Magic Hotel by the harbour was happy to provide this service, a few minutes walk away.) I'd choose that hotel next time.
I liked the funky design and decor. Really comfortable bed and outstanding water pressure in the shower. I liked the window seat. Plenty of food options nearby. Quick walk to Bryggen and light rail from airport. Good for a one night stay.

AustraliaI would have preferred a real glass, not the flimsy plastic one provided. Also, there was a small tear in the vinyl of the window seat that should be repaired. Just minor things. Other than that, I was disappointed that the 360 rooftop bar wasn't open while I was there, but I understand that's beyond Magic Hotels' control.
The location was excellent and facilities in the room were as advertised. The bed was very comfortable! The bathroom and shower were excellent.

SingaporeExpensive for this size. And you still have to pay extra for early check in. Room was freezing cold and we were there in end Sept so I can’t imagine it in winter. Noisy as many others have warned.
Good location, close to everything and only a minute walk from the light rail station. Toilet floor is heated which was a pleasant surprise!
