Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsToo hot in the rooms without possibility of opening the window and no airco, no parking near the room only by the reception, almost impossible to walk iced roads and slopes. Room too essential for the price , no bathrobes or complementary toiletteries. Flimsy furniture and not well assembled.

United StatesFinding the room was a bit confusing. The outer door to the executive suites should be labelled. The hot tub was also not quite full enough.
Beautiful location. We were in an executive suite, which was awesome!!

United KingdomRemoving the hot tub lid was really difficult, especially as the snow from the decking had been piled up next to it so all we could do was lean it against the pile of snow which blocked out any view. There was also no step to get into the hot tub so it made it a bit tricky getting in and out, especially with the ice and snow on the ground.
The location was fantastic with amazing views across the snowy landscape. Although we could see distant towns and houses it really felt like we were in the middle of nowhere! The room was very comfortable - great beds and fun hot tub! Restaurant was a beautiful space in the old barn with fantastic views and a small but varied menu.

United StatesThe accessibility to the room was up a steep set of stairs that were covered in ice. Parking was undetermined, lots of no parking signs. Official parking was possibly 400 yards from the property. But this was unclear.
The actual room, and the facilities in the room were excellent. The on-site restaurant was very good, with very helpful and pleasant staff. Breakfast was good.

ItalyI booked the king suite and the big bathroom was without carpet and all the accessories were missing. There was not tv. The service at the restaurant, they brought the soup without the spoon and we had to wait 5 minutes for it, we have asked the bred and they brought the bred at the end of the dinner.
The location it's amazing, there isa perfect view and we were lucky enough to see an amazing aurora. The rooms/apartment are 5 minutes walking distance from the restaurant. We were in the king suite and the view from the living room and from the bed room were simply amazing.

United Arab EmiratesThe staff were all very friendly and helped a lot, but they were off duty from 11pm after which you were on your own, as well as the fact that they were closed for lunch. But they did supply an out of hours phone number and offered room service at lunch. The shared jacuzzi was not in operation. Or atleast we couldn’t figure out how to use it.
We booked the Executive Suite and it was lovely! Lots of space and a great view to wake up to everyday. We took the northern lights tour two days in a row, we were lucky that both nights we saw the lights very lightly in the sky during the tour around senjas best viewing spots, rather ironically each night when we arrived back at the hotel the whole sky lit up. So we managed to see an amazing show for minutes both nights we were at the hotel.

United StatesThe lock to the apartment door. You need 2 hands & it took about 20 trys. Even trying to leave from the inside was hard. The bed was 2 small beds put together. One queen bed would have been nicer.
Breakfast was awesome! Brown cheese was served & it was a great spread. The windows for viewing were fantastic. Clean! They made it special upon request for a 40th bday. We rented a hot tub one night. That’s a must.

United StatesI would have liked more opportunity to eat. you had to book the restaurant in advance and otherwise there was no other food offered or available to buy and the remoteness of the location left me with no options for food my first night. also breakfast hours were limited I would have liked to eat and have a coffee well before 9am (especially after going to bed without supper).
the location was has a wonderful view of the mountains and fjord. and I got to see the aurora borealis! the restaurant offered an exceptional tasting menu meal. the breakfast buffet was well stocked.

SingaporeHonestly, we were very underwhelmed and disappointed for the price we paid. this is coming from multiple travelling experiences across Europe - airbnbs and hotels alike. we understood that Norway has a high cost of living but this was expensive for what we were given. everythingseemed like an afterthought. - The Aurora Apartment - yes great windows and clean but that’s it. the bathroom was very very simple and there were nothing else in it . u can’t technically see the Aurora that easily from the room we were in and u have to be out in the cold to have a better chance. - simple things were not taken care of. the steps up the apartment is narrow and COVERED in ice . we had to bring out luggages up ourselves . and we had to be so careful going up and down for the 2 days and my partner slipped . we also saw another guy slipping. only after shifting rooms we saw they finally put up some sand . - The hut. this was cute yes. But we were disappointed in the staff and service. We don’t expect above and beyond but this hut is high above the other apartments - a good walk in the snow. i casually asked if there the water is drinkable from the tap in the hut. the receptionist said there’s no water . we hurried to fill our water bottles - imagine if we forgot to ask. they didn’t even bother leaving some filled water bottles in the hut. - hut was out of wifi . receptionist said to get back. did not get back. - Tour. husky tour was great (not by ABO) . then we asked to book the Senja tour- I mentioned toward the tour people there (after hearing raving reviews from another couple staying there) . next day, they booked us on their own tour. which is fine . but the tour guide was so soft and I could hear nothing from the tour. He is friendly yes. but it reduced the experience. i was hoping to hear more about the area and we realised he was also new to Norway. - for a place marketed as the “observatory” they didn’t give much of an intro or enthusiasm when asked .
we do think the main breakfast area (restaurant) was beautiful . we were here for 4 nights and stayed first in the Aurora apartment (2N) - the hut (1N - direct booking with them) then 1N in the executive suite. All were very clean. if you have the budget we recommend the spending on the suite - only this one we truly enjoyed

United KingdomThe rooms are not connected to the main building, which is about 5 mins walk away down a steep and winding hill. If it's been raining, as it often does in Norway, this is a wet and muddy trail. And unfortunately, it is not allowed to park your car outside your accommodation due to fire hazard. You are advised to park 5 mins walk away, by the main building. Not fun in the rain. Breakfast is an unusual arrangement - diners must go into the basement to fill their plates and grab a juice, then carry it all up two floors of stairs to sit down and eat. We saw one child trip and fall during this journey. If you want something else to eat, it's another return trip down and back up. Only the the hot drinks are served in the dining area.
The panoramic views from the room are fabulous - a family of elk passed by our window one morning. Everything is clean and tidy and mostly appears newly constructed or else recently refurbished. Staff are very friendly. Check in/out was very easy. Great breakfast with good choice.

Really friendly staff in a beautiful location. High quality and professional with the care and attention to guests you'd expect of a family business as well. We were here in low season so they were working in some parts of the site, and very kindly upgraded us so we had a quiet and restful stay. Breakfast in the mornings and our dinner in the restaurant was exceptional- fresh ingredients, outstanding cooking, very attentive service. Views from our jacuzzi and the restaurant were amazing, I reckon you'd be hard pressed to beat them!
