Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgSlightly isolated up steep hill. Bus/tram 15min walk. Breakfast choice quite basic. Overpriced for a hostel.
Staff very friendly and professional. Room very clean. Bedroom and bathroom felt a bit sterile. Free parking.

United KingdomThe blind in the room didn't block out much of the sunlight. I was waking up at 4am every morning.
The price was good for Oslo. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety. You can use the gym for 24 hours for 85 nok. There are 2 gyms, upper and lower body. The hostel is ideally located for walking.

AustraliaNothing really. You should know you have to tram or bus to the city, which takes about 30 to 40min. No big deal though.
The room and the view were fantastic. We were lucky with the blue skies every day. Breakfast was decent.

SpainIf you have to go into the centre of Oslo a lot, it's not that convenient. You always need to get a bus and a metro or two buses. The Oslo transport system is excellent though so one rarely waits more than 5 minutes.
It's very comfortable, good breakfast, friendly staff, great views.

GermanyThere are only slight improvements I’d suggest: soap in the bathrooms would be nice for hygiene, shared kitchen is a mess (thankfully I don’t needed it) and nobody really cared.
I’ve got a single bedroom and it was so nice! The shared bathrooms were modern and clean. Breakfast was totally fine - fresh fruit and everything you’d like to eat. Staff was amazing!

ChinaFirst of all we are very satisfied by the hostel, it is actually located on top of a hill, 15 mins by away from the oslo city. The view is great, and the room is actually like student accormadation. You can find laurdary and shared kitchen. If you have your own car, I would really recommended to live there, breakfast is included and it's very good.

AustriaIt's located more on the outer part of Oslo.
From the booking (hostel) our expectation was quite low (little comfort, cheap rooms) but in fact the rooms were very new, modern and clean. Room and bathroom were of sufficient space. It was very calm. There would have been the option to use the common kitchen on the storey. Breakfast was quite ok. The range from joghurt over sausage, eggs,... to salmon was fine. Coffee was not the best. Not luxury but simple and clean. All the hotel staff (students) we had contact with were very nice and supportive. Ah yeah, I nearly forgot....and there was even free of charge vegetables and cookies at the reception in the evening.

NetherlandsNo complaints at all
I'd finished a week hiking trip in the Oslo forests and found this hotel right at the edge of the forests and stayed at the property for 2 days. The location and area was very tranquil and pretty. the breakfast was super! excellent laundry facilities, hotel and room was very clean and tidy with great views of a big lake and the area, also the Oslo Science & Technology museum is a 20 mins walk away and well worth visiting. Great place, location and facilities, will definitely visit again.

PolandNo private bathoom in single room. Sharing bathroom with another single room - I wasn't aware of that when booked. Taking the room card all the time you go from the room to bathroom can be annoying.
I recommend for short stay. Nice vievs from the window. Single room small, but comfortable. Quite good breakfasts (with exception of scrambled eggs).

SwedenNothing for us personally but there is no TV in the room. We didn't miss it but might be good to know.
We've never stayed at a hostel before so we were positively surprised that we could book a room with private bathroom and have breakfast the next morning. Welcome was friendly, room and bathroom were good sized and clean, beds were comfy to sleep in and the breakfast was fulfilling. Perfect place to stay the night when you arrive late and check-out early.
