Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLiked it all!
We absolutely loved our stay at Reisa lodge! It is nestled in a beautiful valley in a remote part of Northern Norway, on the edge of a national park. We loved being totally surrounded by nature. The lodge is very comfortable and well maintained. Plus a hot tub on the roof! The restaurant wasn't open when we were there because there weren't enough people, but we actually loved being able to cook for ourselves. Overall it was a really unique and amazing stay. Huge thank you to Roar for making us feel so welcomed!

NetherlandsNothing at all!
The location, quietness, facilities are awesome. We were here with friends (booked 3 rooms) and had all the space to do whatever we wanted. The owner is a nice and easygoing fellow who does everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. For example, we wanted to make diner for ourselves and could use the professional kitchen to do so. We were welcome to use a big living room so we could be together by the fire to talk and watch the F1 qualifying on his 85" smart-TV. And to top it all off, we used the roof-top Jacuzzi to watch the Aurora/Northern Lights (see picture). Literally one of the best experiences we've had in a hotel... EVER!

United KingdomReisa Lodge was an absolute hidden gem. Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful part of the country. We only stayed one night which was a mistake as we could have easily spent much more time in the area. We will be back again in summer!

The lodge is well located inside the Reisa Park in front of the river. The owner - Mr Roar - and the wife are wonderful hosts, very nice and making you feel like if you are at your own home.

United Kingdom- Exceptional lodge in the remotest of locations (Reisa National Park) - Variety of activities for winter and summer. We went in February and had an unforgettable time snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, husky sledding and ice climbing. - Peter, Roar and Radka were exceptional hosts / guides with an intimate knowledge of the region - We we’re lucky enough to see the northern lights right in the jacuzzi at the lodge - 10/10 experience, would return 100%

LatviaEverything was perfect.
We spent there couple of days with our friends - two families with kids in various ages. Whole lodge was at our disposal. Premises are very nice, clean and cosy. Surrounding Reisa national park area is magnificent - river, mountains etc. Hotel owner Roar is super friendly, very open in communication and very helpful, did his best for us to enjoy Norway in winter time (we will try to find time to come back and see Norway in summer season). Sitting with friends in warm jacuzzi bath tube on open roof terrace, enjoying drinks and observing northern lights playing in cold night sky is absolute once in a life time experience. Thanks to Roar for this free of charge service.

SwitzerlandWe were in the lodge all alone the first night. What a great experience and with the fireplace all to ourselves, we had a fabulous evening switching from sitting by the fire to watching the Northern Lights outside and back. Both mornings breakfast was ready to the agreed time and was tasty. Rooms were of good standard, nicely furnished and with good space.

United KingdomThe lodge is the perfect place to observe the Northern lights. You don’t have to go anywhere, just go to the roof and in the jacuzzi. We saw them 3/4 nights. The area is also beautiful. The room was just like in the pictures and the host Roar was very friendly and made our trip amazing. It’s also very easy to navigate in this part of Norway, although remote. You just need a car. The lodge can also help you with activities like dog sledging and other fun winter things to do. The area is beautiful in the winter, lots of great picture spots!
