Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI would like better curtains in the room as they were very thin so light came in early morning.
Hotel was used for a night for work and i was impressed with the service. I person was running the hotel at the time and she was very impressive and gave me a quick and easy check in, dinner and made sure i was happy with the room i had chosen. The room was very hot due to a plumbing issue so not ideal even with the windows open, however i was offered another room if i needed it. Id stay here again as the food was very good and the hotel was nice and quiet to relax in with a drink.

SwitzerlandCould not escape the midges!!. Note to self- load up on repellent spray before rather than after!!
This is an historic hotel used by river fishermen. There are a lot of photos around the building showing previous guests which include Norway's King and General Montgomery of WW2 fame. Very relaxed atmosphere.

NetherlandsBreakfast was a bit poor. We had to help ourselves and there were only a few bake-off rolls. Yoghurt was expired.
We got a code for the frontdoor, a code for the keybox for the next door and the key for our room was at the receptiondesk (with a nice note). But than we discovered that we were not the only guests in the hotel but also the only people. We have never experienced this before 😀. But is was warm inside, our room was ready and we were happy that we had a good stay in low season. Next morning we met the friendly staff.

NorwayWay overheated rooms. Restaurant was closed without notice. Jacuzzi looked rather uninviting (water from months ago?). Seemed like owner was not engaged. Icy parking, but got gravelled eventually.
Very friendly staff. Historic furniture in some rooms and overall museum feel. Fine breakfast.

FinlandThe pictures didn't match the reality - the room was tiny and bathroom outdated plus there was no working lamp in the room nor air conditioning thus it was too hot. Communication with the staff was poor and staff hard to reach.
Breakfast was decent plus free parking.

NorwayAs long as you accept it for what it is, I've got nothing bad to tell.
The breakfast was a traditional Norwegian breakfast with very good fresh bread, a variety in different add ons and salamon. What makes this guest house unique is the special atmosphere and history. As a previous World War II German High Command, you will feel you are back decades in time as you sit in the lounge and absorb its historiy. And there is no one better than the excellent staff to tell you about it. You will be amazed and dazeled. After visitig nomurous hotel, hostels, guest houses, etc around the world I've found no staff better to accomodate the guests. When it comes to the standards of the hotel, it is what it is, and you just have to accept it for that. It's and old lady in dire need of contionous maintenance.

Norwayno food available in the restaurant which all media showed great photos of food this is why I booked and accepted shared toilets for restaurant and food payoff , but the restaurant wasn’t open for live in guest only coach parties visiting. nearest food was 30 mins drive each way, booking said “ great breakfast “ not even close, half baked bread , cheapest ham salami, ice cold eggs, margarine no butter , food wasn’t ready till 08-0300 each day. flies everywhere in the restaurant, missed breakfast last day as it wasn’t ready at 0745 with 6-8 other guests all waiting. to be honest I didn’t miss, missing the cold food, beds were clean but old and uncomfortable , very noisy old property. wanted to sit with a drink and read in the very nice common sitting area but after 5 mins gave up , constantly attacked by flies and mosquitos . you were trapped in your bedroom and couldn’t open the window for air, as 50 flies came in, the fire escape is not finished you have to jump the last 2.5 m to the ground. no black out blinds or curtains , was daylight 24/7 in your room
staff friendly , location, charm,

GermanyWe booked the Roundhaug with the idea to have nice dinner with some local fish. However, the surprise was, the restaurant was closed (no chef) and the breakfast had been more or less on the level of a backpacker hostel.

FinlandBreakfast is guite simplex (e.g. no porridge). All lights in the room did not work (through sun was shining allmost all the day - not much light needed). It took quite a while to get hot water in the shower.
Old fashion hotel - in a positive way. Lot of history present (Kings and notable People have stayed here ...). Beautiful location close to the river. Quiet and peacefull location.

United KingdomNice hotel in remote village. There is a small supermarket next door which is really handy. Nice breakfast with cereals, juice, tea/coffee, eggs and bacon. They asked if we'd like anything else so the following day we also got a lovely local sausage cooked for us. Excellent wi-fi! We were the only guests this week so the kitchen wasn't open for dinner. There are no restaurants in Rundhaug so we just drove 20 minutes or so to Bardufoss.
