I visit the Scandic Bystranda since many years. It´s always great, comfy and clean. Sometimes, mostly in summer also for Kristiansand overprized. From the hotel it´s easy to walk into the city or harbor and to the restaurants. Breakfast is amazing and everybody will for sure find something. I really liek the hotel.

For a hotel like Scandic Kristiansand I would have expected, friendly staff also in the restaurant area, not just in reception. Also a water cooker to make tea or coffee in the room. Particularly when one arrives late at night from the cold.

The friendly and helpful staff at reception, the bunkbeds, my child was so happy to climb up! We stayed in winter, but there is a lovely view of the frozen little beach, right at the hotel.

I had asked for a room with a view of the sea and was staying for 6 nights. I was paying a lot of money, so I was disappointed not to have that.

Breakfast was excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was so central with a nearby bus stop for the University

Only thing I really missed was my suitcase - but that was KLM´s fault. A kettle to make some tea would be a very valuable addition.

A very professional house but at the same time familiar. The restaurant serves very good food, there is a bar and many different places to sit and chat, all made up differently. Breakfast is buffet style with a lot of good things - all you would wish for.

Size of the room for family room, as the rooms are supposed to be accomodating a family of 4, the size of the room should be bigger.

The location, ambience , the friendly reception staff, the housekeeping staff .

The rooms are quite sticky as you cannot open windows wide and therefore quality of sleep is poor.

The location is close at the city beach and connected with the Aquarama. Excellent for family with kids. Also very friendly staff and good breakfast menu.

We choose this hotel for one night before catching a ferry to Denmark the next day. Close to the city and 10 min drive to the port. It’s a vey nice modern area and good for families in the mean of the rooms are family friendly and it is close to the beach and the swimming hall. Breakfast was very good, and we did not miss anything. Don’t miss walking down to the cute city center for a stroll through the shops.

I booked a taxi to reach the airport the day I left and the taxi never arrived. I understand this is not fully the fault of the hotel

Free wi-fi is not best for security. Having a dedicated account with encryption activated would be a better solution

Cleaning the room - a swipe in the room or a wipe in the bathroom throughout a 4 night's stay would have been great....

Bicycles to borough - that's a really great service that makes me decide for Scandic, if I have the choice.

I was initially offered a room with only a glimse of the sky, luckily it was possible to change but still the room has no view to the seafront, which was a disappointment

Parking could be included in the price. A kettle to cook coffee or tea in the room would make a big difference. And to have a little fridge in the room. The bicycles you can use are just a few and mine was in a quite bad condition.

Location was perfect and so was the breakfast. The bed was very comfortable. You can go directly to Aquarama. We had a nice view to the sea. A bicycle you can ride for free is a special extra.

The atmosphere in the room. Somewhat disappointed that the breakfast wasn't as "all out" as at the radisson blu (down the street).

The view and that it was easy to get to the gym and swimming pool. You even received a discount at the pool.
