Disruption and dust from renovation work. First room allocated had no blinds (taken down due to dust apparently) and was like a goldfish bowl when internal lights needed. Replacement room provided on Days 2/3 was better because it was high up and not overlooked, though still had no blinds to moderate sunlight streaming into the room. No coffee or tea making facility in the room (most hotels I used in Norway had this). Coffee machine in foyer (ground floor) had no milk or creamer supplied.

Strange reception when doing check in. Work being done on the Floor we stayed on. Cable extended on the Floor which we almost tripped over. Bed very narrow. Strange smell in the gym.

We was here second time and and is second time when we meet this lady in from desk, she looks at you and gives a feeling that you do something wrong, and need to apologize. She is not mean or angry, just really unpleasant.

Undergoing renovation at the moment. Only affected us because we used the stairs instead of the lift. Not a great view from our balcony room. Only BBC news channel in English - but we didn't come to Norway to watch telly!

Great location , lovely breakfast which is included, lots of choices. They offered full breakfast and lots of healthy choices too. There were gluten free options and dairy free options too which was nice. They are going through renovations and I did ask ahead of time to be away from any work currently being done in other rooms , which they did accommodate. We were in room 705 , which was perfect for our needs. We had a nice view although the road can be a little noisy on a weekend night , if you’re a light sleeper . We were a few minutes walk from the harbour and also close to shops and restaurants. Would highly recommended taking the 31/2 hour tour of the fjords and the cruise ships were all within easy walking distance.

The room was a bit small hardly any space to walk in the room.

The location of the hotel is very convenient just 5 min on foot to get to the nearest airport bus (Flybus) stop and just 10 min to get to the historic center of the city. The breakfast buffet was perfect to give energy for the whole day. The price of the room with breakfast included was very good. Good heating in the room and very good internet.

The hotel is being renovated. There were trip hazards in the corridors. Other guests had received 20% discounts because of the renovation work The first room had windows at car park level, no curtains

The maze to get to our room This may change when building alterations are completed. The smokers standing around the front doors. The lack of English language channels on tv. The poor response to reboot the t v when it froze on a channel. I ended up fixing it myself by stacking chairs to reach the switch. The staff could be a little more helpful at this hotel

We weren’t told in advance that Neptun was closed.

We were sent to Scandic Torget because Neptun was closed. Torget was actually better. The only issue was that we didn’t know until we arrived at our original property at 8pm and saw note on the door. Scandic Torget was actually right on the harbour. Neptun is only 5 minutes walk away so location still good.

Lacks a bit of character the architecture of the hotel is utilitarian.

NOISE FROM RENOVATIONS - directly above our first room... no guest should have been put into that room, or any others, close to renovations and drilling (again, see email sent yesterday) We were moved- in 2nd room bath water emptying onto floor rather than down bath plughole! No plug, other than at floor level for kettle = dangerous, especially as this room appears to have been set up for a family. TV position made it impossible to watch unless standing in narrowest part of room. Summary - it would seem that no thought had been given towards a guest living comfortably or safely in this room.

On a Sunday not much is open in the hotel for eating, but there is a lovely Indian restaurant nearby. Underground renovations at the moment; some hallways are a bit dusty, but rooms are fine.

Fantastic location. 450 m from the end of the airport train (Bybanen). For Hurtigruten travelers 900 m to that terminal. In the centre, close to all sorts of facilities. Clean rooms, very well heated, great breakfast.

Reception was modern, clean and welcoming. The hotel behind the scenes looked like it was mid renovation, rooms were full of broken furniture, dirty carpets in hallway and outdated rooms - we had a kettle, but no milk/creamer and reo dirty mugs. - behind the scenes let it down

I had to change rooms on arrival as the bathroom basin plug was jammed closed. No problem for reception who handled this issue quickly and efficiently.

Easy access to harbour and old town as well as train stations. The room was very comfortable but had to negotiate stairs to wing which may have been added on or an earlier model.

No cleaning of the bedroom in any of the 3 nights we spent there. They changed the towels every day (which was not necessary), but no cleaning of the room. In the last day, the lights in the bathroom just got more dark.

Breakfast was excellent, as well as the location, quite close to everything!
