Don’t expect a five star Marriot and you will certainly like the place! We highly recommend a fishing trip with Børje! We only caught a few small salmon but still had fun. Someone on the boat caught an angler fish!

A nice rorbuer located in a small village at the center of Lofoten islands a few minutes drive from Leknes. Good location. The views from the window are beautiful. Friendly owners. Clean. Stable WIFI. Basic and fairly equipment kitchen. Good enough to make basic dinner (e.g. pasta) but not for something fancy.

When I went outside I didn’t like the smell of fish because of a nearby fish factory.

Simple and comfortable cabin with everything we needed to cook a meal, hang out, and enjoy the area. The loft in the cabin was cute. Host was welcoming and helpful, providing recommendations for Ballstad. A little different than a hotel room- just tidy up the cabin before departing.

The kitchen equipment was very basic and not in the best shape. Also a proper dining table was missing, so one had to Arrangement around it.

The village is lovely just as this accommodation with its guest houses. The staff is very friendly and supportive when questions came up and provided great input on local activities.

I stayed in one of the "fisherman's cottages" -- which are nothing but. Those three cottages are at the back of a parking lot used by motorhomes, so in summer the view and noise must be pretty bad. There isn't any open ocean view either, even when the lot is empty. The cottages themselves are supposed to be cleaned by the guests, and there's an optional extra cleaning fee if you don't want to do it yourself. As a result the cleanliness was dubious at best. The whole cottage smelled of cold fish, as did every single cooking utensil. The shower didn't drain properly (reported to the host, who didn't do anything about it before I left). Some windows didn't open, others didn't close properly (damaged / broken fittings). There wasn't anywhere to hang the towels in the bathroom, after reporting it the host installed a hook in possibly the worst place in the entire bathroom: just behind the door, where nothing dries. I used their washing and drying service, the dryer didn't work properly and my clothes were still damp after 3h. Finally, there's nothing around. There's one tiny shop (Joker) in Ballstad itself, on the island in front, but the closest large supermarket is in Leknes. Going anywhere from that place requires driving back to Leknes, so get used to that stretch of road.

The hosts are very friendly. It's not too expensive (for Norway).

facilities could be cleaner, We had a hard time for cooking but the managers were nice and helped a lot.

The rooms were not so clean, there were pests in one of the rooms - which the host tried to pesticide. In addition, after our stay the host requested a significant amount of money, due to his claim that we left the cabins unclean. We had no idea that the cabins should be left clean with all dishes cleaned etc. But even so, the amount of money that the host requested was not correlated to the cleaning work needed.

The host was generous since there were not so many guests. In addition, they helped us arranging transportation and even offered their help

Its a beautiful place by harbour. Very nice lady in the reception. Its was cozy and clean in the cabin.

We decide to cancel one night (we booked 2, before) and the chief decided to return me 80% of the paymant (for that night) even if booking didn't permit me to delete the reservation

Had to pay a super expensive linen fee and they didn't even make the beds. Received no extra set of towels even though we paid the linen fee. The trash can was full when we got there but they had a cleaning fee if we left it dirty. The walls were so thin that we could hear the neighbors every move. Too expensive for what you get.

The location is next to some ok hikes. Also they had free parking.

Mary Ann is the nicest lady in Norway! whatever small questions we had - all got sorted out in seconds. We stayed overnight with our cat and it especially liked the cabin structure. The place was spotless and cozy. Fantastic hospitality is guaranteed if you stay there. For those who are interested- this is a fishing paradise as well.
