There was no soap in the bathroom soap dispenser. Not a huge deal. Everything was fantastic and we wish we could have stayed longer!

The most beautiful location! We could see the northern lights out of our bedroom window. The space was large enough for our three children, many hiking opportunities around, the opportunity to rent a private spa area for two hours, grocery market close by and the kitchen was great for cooking meals in!

Space for clothes, especially in the winter.Some stuff member could be bit friendlier, but it is part of the culture in Norway in general 😉 The food in restaurant is indeed overpriced and quality moderate, it’s a pity that in this region we hardly could order any fresh fish, we didn’t understand the pasta dishes on the menu here? We booked only 3 nights here, we wished we could stay longer.

Our room was superb deluxe on the 3rd floor in the main building, Breakfast is really exceptional. Nature and surround is absolutely stunning and we saw twice the Aurora (last week in March) of 3 nights. Thee and coffee facilities. Floorheating the bathroom. Scenic drive from Tromso.

Exceptional stay at this hotel made our holidays feel like a dream. Super comfy beds, amazing breakfast and free sauna was a cherry on top. 100% recommended. We could even borrow spikes on the reception as we forgot to bring our own. Top stay.

Evening meals a little overpriced, but expected in high season, and given there is no other option in the area. The menu choice is quite limited. No tea /coffee in room but it is free from the reception.

Location is great, friendly staff, good breakfast. Sauna is nice and taking a dip in the ice cold sea is so refreshing. I came home feeling chilled and relaxed!

Keep in mind that the hotel is an hour away from Tromso airport, so getting a taxi or Uber is very hard. We had to pay close to USD 230 for a taxi from Sommaroy to Tromso central. The area is very secluded so there's barely anything around. I recommend to bring some snacks with you. We really wanted to use the outdoor jacuzzi but they informed us that it's fully booked the moment we arrived. If we had known, we would have booked online or something. Food is expensive - for example one steak can cost you around USD 50 (generally everything in Tromso is expensive).

I think the best thing we liked about this area is that you can see the Northern Lights from your window! The hotel provides you with a map to show you the best areas to see them and other things to do - but honestly there's not much. We walked by the pier & went on the hills - it was a clear sky so we got to see so many stars until Lady Aurora finally appeared! Other things we liked: -Clean & comfortable -Views from the hotel are breathtaking -Modern facilities -Great breakfast with some good options

Wellness - this was disappointment. First of all outside sauna was under construction all week and secondly, two outside jacuzzis were fully booked 4 days in advance. Thanks. Just because you can do only 3 rounds per day. The inside sauna was ok, but was not maintained at all. Dirt on the floor, slippery, plastic things left in the sauna. Guest were instructed to take swimsuits inside the sauna. (Please learn how to do a sauna without swimsuits - for example sheet which was not provided). The biggest disappointment was shuttle service ending 4 PM. Those customer which arrive later to Tromso airport are left for a TAXI or car rental which is fully booked weeks ahead. So taxi was 220 EURos one trip. And hotel receptionist said Welcome to Norway. Sorry NOT. I understand Norway is expensive, but hotel should provide shuttle at least until 10 PM. And then if you want to go to Tromso city as trip - hotel provides shuttle - 67 EUR per person one way. This is ridiculous. Sorry. The good thing was nature around the hotel and fjords, but there is literally nothing in Sommaroy except this hotel and few docks and shipyard plus one small Diner.

The hotel was far away from Tromso which mean less light polution. It was on the island around 1 hour from Tromso. The hotel itself was very nice, staff also and great breakfast and dinner. Wellness not so much.

The apartment is not connected immediately to the hotel, so you do need to either walk or drive if you want to go to the restaurant. This wasn't an issue since we had a car and the weather was mild.

It would be nice if they provided bathrobes in the room for the sauna. Otherwise, it was perfect.

This place is amazing. Rooms were comfortable, the atmosphere relaxing and the sauna and ice cold plunge were superb. Staff is friendly and top notch. It was a great escape for us from the zoo that is Tromsø. Come here if you want to relax, hike about a bit and enjoy the northern lights. There are many great places to see them without light pollution. You can skip the expensive Northern lights tours and come here instead. I recommend a car so you can drive about (we saw wild reindeer and moose!). It’s an easy drive from Tromso with a 4WD. We will be back!
